VETERANS ARE A CUT ABOVE THE REST OF US
"Among our greatest honor is to serve Veterans here at Knollcrest and Steuerle Chapel. It's humbling and our duty to provide them the best service possible" states Bob Van Staalduinen, founder and owner of both locations in Lombard and Villa Park.
Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery was founded in 1999, and is now the hallowed ground hosting more burials and columbarium entombments in our state. All of the military honors accompany the services for a fallen loved one who achieved Veteran status in their lifetime. The benefits, earned through service and valor, are eligible for the spouse, and even a dependent child of a Veteran, in addition to themselves. Despite the availability of these benefits, many veterans, and many more families of veterans are unaware of this high honor and valuable service. Among the benefits are the burial gravesite, opening and closing the site, the ground box for the casket to be placed into, as well as the marker. In the case of Cremation, the niche and the inurnment are included. In every case, the Veteran will have honors from his or her branch of the service, the playing of Taps, a rifle salute, and an American Flag, folded and presented to the next of kin with the thanks of the President and a grateful nation.
If a family chooses a private cemetery elsewhere, they remain entitled to a military salute, Taps, a marker, the American Flag and potentially other benefits. Our professional directors will guide you through each step and file all of the necessary forms. It's our honor to serve those who have served us with such devotion.
