๐ค ๐บ During Black History Month, we honor the resilience, strength and stories of the Black community โ and that includes the journey toward emotional and mental wellness.
Too often, stigma, discrimination and lack of access make it harder for Black individuals to get the care they deserve. About one in five Black adults experience a mental health concern each year, yet fewer than four in 10 receive treatment. Barriers like cost, stigma and mistrust of the system keep many from seeking help.
๐ฃ Ways to support your wellness:
โข Talk openly about how youโre feeling with someone you trust.
โข Seek providers who understand your culture and values.
โข Practice faith, mindfulness or meditation if it brings you peace.
โข Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you.
โข Take pride in your identity and community โ itโs a source of strength.
