Women’s care is reaching new heights at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica as the hospital’s new expansion project passes another milestone, with crews recently assembling the massive crane that now towers above the site.

In the months ahead, the foundation of the new space will begin to take shape, as work continues on the future home of a host of women’s, children’s and family health services that will enable us to provide more care to a growing region.

A Legacy of Caring

In 2003, Tanner Health System opened the new, acute care Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica — a state-of-the-art hospital facility designed to ensure patient comfort and enhance care for residents throughout Carroll, Douglas and Paulding counties.

In 2018, the footprint of the facility almost doubled with the construction of a new emergency department, featuring almost 40 exam rooms and on-unit diagnostic imaging services, as well as a new surgical services unit featuring the latest technologies for minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures.

Today, Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica continues an almost 60-year tradition of delivering quality care close to home, beginning with Villa Rica City Hospital, which joined Tanner in 1985. The legacy of caring continues with the compassionate and comprehensive health services offered today at the modern Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica.
