Proud to Represent Georgia at the NFDA Advocacy Summit

This week, we were honored to have our very own Ellen Wynn McBrayer, Dana Jones Wynn, and Ed Thomas represent our funeral home family at the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C.

All are members of NFDA, and Ellen Wynn McBrayer currently serves as Secretary on the NFDA Executive Board, helping lead and represent our profession at the national level.

Together, they joined more than 200 funeral professionals from across the country to advocate for meaningful legislation that supports grieving families and strengthens the funeral service profession.

They were grateful for the opportunity to meet with Georgia’s Senators and Representatives, as well as Representative Bennie Thompson of Mississippi—ensuring our communities and the families we serve have a strong voice on Capitol Hill.

Those pictured include:
• Representative Brian Jack (GA)
• Representative Rick Allen (GA)
• Representative Buddy Carter (GA)
• Senator Jon Ossoff (GA)
• Representative Bennie Thompson (MS)

Key topics discussed included protecting the dignity of body donation through the Body Broker Bill, expanding Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to assist families with funeral expenses, and advancing important improvements to veterans’ burial benefits.

We are incredibly proud of their leadership, their heart for service, and the way they represented our funeral home and the families we serve.

For some, this day is filled with laughter, memories, and maybe a quick call or text. For others, it carries a quieter weight — remembering a sibling who is deeply missed.
Wherever this day finds you, we honor both the love that remains and the love that continues, even in absence.
