Congratulations to PhD candidate Mary Beth Murray, the "People's Choice" winner at Villanova's Three Minute Thesis (3MT®), a competition for master’s and doctoral students to develop and showcase their research and communication skills. In just three minutes, she offered a compelling, scholarly presentation on "Addressing the Silent Grief: A Yoga Intervention to Support Women in Infertility Treatment" to an audience at the Mullen Center on Feb. 20. The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing is proud to announce a $5 million leadership gift from Deborah “Dee” Silvers ’86 and Nick Adams to support the reimagination of its simulation lab. In recognition of this gift, the transformed Center will be named the Dee Adams Center for Innovation and Simulation Excellence. The new Center will integrate leading-edge technology, improve patient outcomes and enable a 25% increase in undergraduate Nursing enrollment. Heartfelt thanks to Craig and Nancy Gibson P ’20 for generously supporting the Lourdes Pilgrimage for our students! Students report this life-changing experience enriches their education in profoundly meaningful and mission‑driven ways.

For Crishelle Ildefonso ’26 FCN and Peyton Shallcross ’26 FCN, a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, offered more than clinical experience; it revealed the heart of nursing: presence, empathy and human connection. As participants in a service trip organized by the Order of Malta, they joined hundreds of pilgrims in caring for those seeking healing, returning with lessons that will shape their vocation for years to come.

We are so proud of Ellen M. Tracy ’81 BSN, ’97 MSN, whose decades of leadership at CHOP and continued engagement with Villanova embody what it means to be a Villanova Nurse.

The impact of Villanova’s M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing has extended far beyond the classroom for Ellen M. Tracy ’81 FCN, ’97 MSN. Nearly 45 years after starting at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Tracy now serves as vice president of nursing and stays connected to Villanova through the Alumni Workplace Engagement Program and mentoring current nursing students. Her work with Villanova strengthens early-career nurses, fosters meaningful connections and reflects the lasting impact of a Villanova education.
