March is a time to recognize the impact of those who support the emotional and mental well-being of our patients. While we celebrate Social Worker Month nationwide, we’re proud to spotlight our own behavioral health professional, Benjamin Foxworth, a Licensed Professional Counselor, who provides compassionate care, guidance, and support to those who need it most. 💙

Benjamin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University of Alexandria and went on to receive both a Master of Science in Applied Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 13 years, with extensive experience across inpatient psychiatric care, substance abuse treatment, geriatric behavioral health, and intensive outpatient programs. Throughout his career, he has served patients at facilities including Beacon Behavioral Health, Compass Behavioral Health, Oceans Behavioral Hospital, and Savoy Medical Center.

Benjamin has been part of the Mercy family since 2020, initially serving part-time and PRN, and now works full-time as Director of Social Services. His dedication, experience, and compassionate approach make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients every day!
