I would like to encourage each and everyone to schedule your wellness, vision, and dental exams.
See below for some additional screening information.
1. Women 21-65, should receive cervical cancer screening with a Pap smear unless she underwent a total hysterectomy due to a non-cancerous reason.
2. Men and women 45 and older, you are due for colon cancer screening. 💥 For men who are afraid of having their prostrate examined, it can be visualized during a colonoscopy, so make sure you ask if there were any visualized abnormalities.
3. Women 40 and older, should receive breast cancer screening. Ask about completing a mammogram. Also, make sure you are completing self-breast exams.
We focus so much on beautifying our outward appearance and fail to check and take care of what’s going on the inside.

Dr. Rashauna G. Moody is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner in Louisiana. Dr. Moody has been a nurse since 2004. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Northwestern State University in July 2022, where she maintained a 3.94 during her course work. Her scholarly project title is: Implementation of a Primary Health Screening Program in a Rural Clinic: A Quality Improvement Project.

Dr. Moody obtained a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Northwestern in 2007. She obtained an Associate of Science in Nursing degree from the Louisiana State University at Eunice in 2004, and she has prior nursing experience in the intensive care unit, emergency room, and med-surgical unit. Dr. Moody has experience as a nurse practitioner in primary care, internal medicine, occupational medicine, correctional medicine, and wound care.

She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Louisiana State Nurses Association, Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau. Dr. Moody serves as a mentor to aspiring and practicing nurses and nurse practitioners.

Providers, thorough history, physical exam, & diagnostics if indicated for these sport physicals. Parents, any close relatives with sudden death should be reported to the provider while providing the child’s history.

Here is a misconceptions about the influenza vaccination:
"I get the flu after the flu shot."
Fact: One Reason individuals get sick after the influenza vaccination is that they may have been exposed to the virus that causes rhinosinusitis (common cold) which symptoms may mimic influenza.
Fact: Second reason is that the individual may have been exposed to the influenza virus prior to vaccination or two week period after vaccination. It takes about two weeks to develop immune protection after vaccination.
Fact: Third reason is that the individual may have been exposed to a different influenza virus that is different from the viruses the vaccine is designed to protect against.
