October 23rd is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and is a day for specific actions and observances, such as participating in events, wearing purple, and raising awareness through social media campaigns! Here at WIC, we wear our purple proudly today to support survivors!

October is called "Pink October" or associated with the color pink because it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a designation that began in the 1980s. The pink ribbon, the most recognizable symbol of breast cancer awareness, originated in the early 1990s after a magazine lawyer suggested changing a peach-colored ribbon to pink for a corporate campaign

We got the opportunity to do a WIC and World Breastfeeding Week display at Good Samaritan Hospital for the week! Thank you to our Daviess county clerk Heather for working hard this pass week coming up with a beautiful idea and going to put it all together and display it for everyone to see!
