⚠️ WARMING CENTERS AVAILABLE DURING IMPENDING WINTER WEATHER ⚠️
As dangerously cold temperatures approach, the following locations have been confirmed as warming centers for Lawrence County residents who may need a safe, heated place to go.
LAWRENCEVILLE
Lawrence County Health Department – Community Living Room
📍 2101 James Street, Lawrenceville, IL
➡️ Use the side entrance
I spoke directly with a member of the Health Department staff.
• Normally available for 23 hours (with a required 1-hour break)
• When temperatures drop below freezing, the time limit is NOT enforced
BRIDGEPORT
Fountain - FFWC
📍 701 E. State Street, Bridgeport, IL
I spoke directly with Pastor Charlie Ash, who confirmed the church will serve as a warming center.
ST. FRANCISVILLE
City Hall
📍 200 5th Street, St. Francisville, IL
I spoke with Chief of Police Billy Darnell, who advised that City Hall will be opened as a warming center in the event of a power outage where heat is lost.
SUMNER
City Hall
📍 224 S Christy Street - Sumner, IL
City Manager, Travis Trainer will be at City Hall on Saturday night. He will monitor the situation and may continue to provide access as needed. If he is not at City Hall, he can be reached at (618) 912-9123
