Day 298:Carson was up all night in extreme pain. He kept, saying, “my femur and wewe hurt.” We had a clinic appointment for chemo this morning, so I just waited it out. He took tylenol and gabapentin, but nothing broke the pain. They did x rays to rule out a break. The x rays showed fluid in between his hip bone, but no fractures. They did an ultrasound of his groin area and we are waiting results to see if the leukemia has spread to his testicles. Carson has been admitted to his second home on 7 West as we wait for all the results to come in. The plan is to continue chemotherapy later today. (He was on a hold till they ruled out causes of his pain.) However, at this time he can barely sit up and even with assistance he is unable to stand.
On a good note all his labs look phenomenal. His blood cell counts, hemoglobin and ANC are all in the normal range. He doesn’t have any mouth sores this go around, which is what hospitalized him with this chemo last time.
At this point, we just need everyone to send positive vibes and pray. We need it first and foremost in hopes that the cancer did not spread his testicles. Second Carson has a trip planned next weekend that he has been waiting for since last year. It has been planned and booked for months. I’m really hoping he’s released and clear to go enjoy himself next weekend.
