Detox season is almost here! It will officially begin on March 21, the day of the Spring Equinox 🌻
Detoxification is the body’s natural way of neutralizing, transforming and eliminating unwanted materials or toxins. During the equinoxes, it is important that we support the body’s detox process, especially if you have had immune challenges throughout the fall and winter season.
Our bodies naturally detox during the equinoxes due to the angle of light equalizing between earth’s hemispheres, initiating a time of seasonal transition and biological and physiological changes. This is commonly noticed through changes in melatonin production, shifts in cellular energy, and mood. You may have noticed during the Autumnal equinox that it was a time of reflection and inwardness, with increased focus on nourishing the body with warming foods and supporting the Lungs and Large Intestine.
During the Vernal equinox, we focus on the Liver as the prime organ for detoxification and in the coming weeks, we will post more on the phases of liver detoxification and how you can support yours through this pivotal time.
It is important to be aware that toxins can infiltrate our body and pe*****te our barriers through factors such as environmental, pharmaceuticals, medical procedures, cosmetics/personal care items, unsafe food/processed food, and byproduct waste from metabolic process.
Toxicity in the body can appear in many ways but some common forms are: allergies, weight gain, joint inflammation, fatigue, psoriasis/eczema, emotional imbalance and digestive disturbance.
As the Spring Equinox nears, consider implementing some of these changes into your detox:
🔅Eat organic foods
🔅Move around frequently and drink lots of water
🔅Have detox acupuncture or massage (manual lymphatic drainage)
🔅Use infared red sauna
🔅Take liposomal Glutathione and Apple Pectin – helps the body eliminate persistent organic pollutants (POP)
