Big congratulations to an entire team for showing what growth from within really looks like at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay.

Maurice Williams has been promoted from Security & Safety Manager to Director of General Services. Maurice has led the department with steady leadership, accountability, and a true commitment to his team, and this next step reflects the impact he’s already made across campus.

From there, the momentum kept going.

Maurice promoted James Davis into the Security & Safety Manager role, recognizing his leadership and dedication. Then James backfilled his previous position by promoting Skye Cooper from Security Guard to Security Supervisor.

Three promotions. One department. All internal.

It’s such a great example of our commitment to developing talent and creating real pathways for growth. When leaders invest in their people, it creates opportunities for everyone and strengthens the whole organization.

Congratulations to Maurice, James, and Skye on these well-earned achievements. We’re grateful for everything you do to keep our community safe and supported every day.

Today we’re celebrating an important milestone for Linet Obura, Financial Analyst, as she marks 5 years with Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay.

As a Financial Analyst, Linet helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Her attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and steady approach to the numbers help our teams make confident decisions and keep our community operating at its best.

She brings reliability, care, and a true service mindset to her work every day, supporting both our staff and the residents we serve in ways that often go unseen but are deeply felt.

This award is reserved for Team Members who consistently represent the very best of WCCB. These are the team members who live our mission daily, lead with integrity, put residents first in every decision, and set the standard for excellence across our community.

• Julia Fretwell – Healthcare Administrator, leading the Hoy Center and Enhanced Services. Julia is celebrating five years with Westminster, with six just around the corner. Her compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to quality care make a lasting impact on residents, families, and team members.

• Kevin Heller – Systems & Data Engineer, with nearly five years of service. Kevin’s behind-the-scenes expertise, consistency, and problem-solving help ensure our systems support the critical work happening across campus every day. His dedication truly helps keep everything running smoothly.

• Moira Hirst – Healthcare Marketing & Outreach Coordinator, celebrating three years with Westminster. Moira’s passion for connection, storytelling, and community outreach beautifully reflects the heart of our organization and helps strengthen relationships both within and beyond our walls.

The Westminster Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay Executive Team celebrated our mid-level supervisors and managers at our Annual Leadership Team Breakfast hosted this year at the Delta Marriott Virginia Beach. This year's theme was a "Mad Hatter Christmas", which was well received.

Over 60 supervisors and managers were celebrated for their contributions to the joy and well-being of our residents, fellow team members, and the community.

🎁✨ Complimentary Holiday Gift Wrapping for Our WC Community ✨🎁

The holidays are busy—but at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay, we love finding little ways to make the season brighter. 💙

Our annual complimentary holiday gift wrapping event gave residents and team members a chance to check one more thing off their to-do list while enjoying festive paper, cheerful helpers, and plenty of holiday spirit. From beautifully wrapped gifts to smiling faces, it was a wonderful reminder of what makes our community so special.

This time of year is all about community, gratitude, and looking out for one another ❤️

Every holiday season, our residents come together to support the people who care for them day in and day out. Through our Hourly Team Member Resident Christmas Fund, residents generously raised over $370,000 to provide a holiday bonus to our hourly team members as a heartfelt thank you for their dedication, compassion, and hard work throughout the year.

Our team members are the heart of our community. They show up every day with kindness, patience, and care, and this fund is one powerful way our residents share their appreciation and spread a little extra holiday joy.

Because of the generosity of our incredible team, 112 children were sponsored this year, supporting 58 Westminster team member families through donations and care.

Seeing these gifts come together is a powerful reminder of what makes Westminster such a special place to work. This is more than a holiday program. It’s a reflection of community, compassion, and teammates showing up for one another when it matters most.
