The Westminster Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay Executive Team celebrated our mid-level supervisors and managers at our Annual Leadership Team Breakfast hosted this year at the Delta Marriott Virginia Beach. This year's theme was a "Mad Hatter Christmas", which was well received.

Over 60 supervisors and managers were celebrated for their contributions to the joy and well-being of our residents, fellow team members, and the community.

🎁✨ Complimentary Holiday Gift Wrapping for Our WC Community ✨🎁

The holidays are busy—but at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay, we love finding little ways to make the season brighter. 💙

Our annual complimentary holiday gift wrapping event gave residents and team members a chance to check one more thing off their to-do list while enjoying festive paper, cheerful helpers, and plenty of holiday spirit. From beautifully wrapped gifts to smiling faces, it was a wonderful reminder of what makes our community so special.

This time of year is all about community, gratitude, and looking out for one another ❤️

Every holiday season, our residents come together to support the people who care for them day in and day out. Through our Hourly Team Member Resident Christmas Fund, residents generously raised over $370,000 to provide a holiday bonus to our hourly team members as a heartfelt thank you for their dedication, compassion, and hard work throughout the year.

Our team members are the heart of our community. They show up every day with kindness, patience, and care, and this fund is one powerful way our residents share their appreciation and spread a little extra holiday joy.

Thank you to our residents for your incredible generosity, and thank you to our amazing team members for all that you do. This is what makes our community so special. 🎄✨

🎄✨ Operation Christmas Cheer ✨🎄

Because of the generosity of our incredible team, 112 children were sponsored this year, supporting 58 Westminster team member families through donations and care.

Seeing these gifts come together is a powerful reminder of what makes Westminster such a special place to work. This is more than a holiday program. It’s a reflection of community, compassion, and teammates showing up for one another when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who donated, sponsored a child, and helped make the season brighter. We are so grateful to be part of a workplace where kindness and support truly shine. ❤️

Halloween brought a lot of personality to Westminster Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay today. Team members from across campus joined in with costumes and a pumpkin decorating contest, and our residents enjoyed every bit of it.

Moments like this matter. They show the heart behind the work. Our team supports, cares, cooks, maintains, leads, and serves every day and we also make room to connect and have fun together. When people feel like they belong, it shows in how they show up.

Last week we had the joy of celebrating our incredible team members who reached 5 years of service at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay!

This luncheon was all about honoring their dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of those we serve every single day. Whether caring for residents, supporting behind the scenes, or bringing smiles across campus, each of you represents the heart of our community.

We’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished over these five years and grateful for the kindness and care you share with others. Here’s to you and all the moments still to come!

The WeAreWC Committee hosted our annual team member picnic this year at Bayville Farms Park! There were games, food, a DJ, and fun for everyone! We even had a co****le tournament with the top three teams winning gift cards for Tropical Smoothie.

There was also an opportunity to win a pair of Fleet Feet tennis shoes. For a $5 donation to the Team Member Emergency Relief Fund, participants received four corn hole bean bags. Getting one in received a pair of shoes! Everyone had an amazing time, and raised money to help our fellow team members in need.

On behalf of the WeAreWC Committee, we send a big thank you to our team members and their families who came out and made the day special as we work together and play together. WeAreWC!

The WC Starfish began their inaugural season of co-ed softball with VA Beach Sports & Recreation. Our team works together AND plays together!

In our double-header Friday, August 29th against the Dirty Shirties, Tim Tivvis saved the Starfish from being shutout with our only homerun in game one. Game two we finished stronger with great defensive plays including popup outs by Katrina Hightower and others, and double plays with Chris Mills and Ellen Ramsey Duckworth, as well as six homeruns!

We hope to keep that same momentum going this Friday, September 5th against Kempsville Baptist! The double-header begins at 6:30 pm at the Princess Anne Sports Complex, 4001 Dam Neck Road, VA Beach. Come on out and support the WC Starfish! 💫

Celebrating 25 Years of Dedication!

Please join us in congratulating Luis Davila on reaching an incredible milestone 25 years of service at Westminster Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay!

Luis started his journey with us as a Maintenance Technician, quickly proving himself to be a dependable and skilled team member. In 2017, he was promoted to Lead Maintenance Tech, and by 2019, he took on the role of Maintenance Supervisor, a position he continues to lead with excellence today.

For over two decades, Luis has been a steady force within our community, known for his hard work, deep knowledge, and consistent leadership. Those who’ve had the chance to work with him over the years know just how much he brings to the table and how much he cares about the people and the place he helps maintain.

Thank you, Luis, for your 25 years of dedication and impact. We’re lucky to have you on the team! 💙🔧
