We are moved by Ron Dixon's story ❤️
Ron is 42, a father of 5 boys, and was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in June 2025. Since then, it has progressed to stage 4.
"I don't want to leave my friends and family. I want to see my boys grow and be happy," said Ron.
During his stay at SPAH, Ron and his family have formed a close bond with the staff. One moment that stayed with him happened while he was being wheeled to an EKG, when a nurse said, “Hey Ron, I’ll see you when you get back, ok,” and he replied, “Yes ma’am.”
Ron described the nurses as angels - like mother figures.
"They didn't come in and say, 'Okay, we're gonna stab your arm.' These ladies were like angels. It was like blowing my mind."
Ron's sister expressed her gratitude by crafting badge holders for the staff. Team members would stop by Ron's room to pick out their favorite.
"She brought in bags and bags and said, 'I want everybody who touches you to get one of these,'" said Ron with a proud smile on his face.
We are cheering Ron and his family on, always 💙
