Scars are one of the most common concerns we hear when patients are considering surgery.
Any time an incision is made, some degree of scarring is unavoidable. What matters is how those incisions are planned, placed, and cared for over time.
Plastic surgeons are trained to minimize tension, use precise techniques, and position scars as discreetly as possible when anatomy and the procedure allow.
It’s also important to know that scars change. Early on, they’re often more noticeable. Over time, most soften, fade, and continue to improve as the body heals.
That process takes patience, consistency, and the right kind of care—not aggressive treatments or rushing the timeline.
Scar expectations, care, and long-term options are always discussed before surgery and revisited throughout recovery, because every body heals differently. And if needed, additional treatments or revisions can be considered once healing is complete.
