Today is , when horse lovers raise awareness for horse sanctuaries and rescues. Several members of our herd were rescued before coming to our program as an equine therapeutic partner, and we are very proud of our role in giving horses a second chance at life. 🐴

Through the end of May, the Horses for Mental Health Campaign has partnered with EQUI-KIDS to raise awareness and funds for mental health in our community. 💚

You can Help a Horse by donating, tagging a friend or business who is passionate about mental health, or sharing our posts over the next few weeks! Want to be the first to show your support? Make the first donation here 👉

GiveLocal757 day is coming up on May 5 ❤️💛💙

Do you or someone you know live outside of Virginia? Help us win the Nifty Fifty Challenge – if we receive a donation from all 50 states, PCF Virginia will give us an extra $400!

Donations can be made NOW through May 5th at 11:59pm at https://www.givelocal757.org/organization/equi-kids

May is special to us because of Mental Health Awareness Month. We believe everyone who sets foot on the farm receives a mental health boost, and we want to recognize our Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program offered in partnership with Olive Tree Counseling and Mediation 🌳

All donations will support our herd of therapy horses used in EAP and many other programs. Kick off the nationwide Nifty Fifty Challenge - tag someone in another state to donate even $10 to help us win! 💸

Therapeutic Thursday was a good one this week!! ☀️

A 6-year-old participant in our speech therapy program had a session this week with Kaycee. He typically does not speak. At his first session riding Kaycee, he used two new words for the first time: HORSE and GO! 🤠

Children who are nonverbal frequently speak their first words on a horse—just one of the outcomes we see all the time in the arena. We are celebrating this win with this new family in our program, his therapeutic team, and Kaycee!

Thank you to the Michael Borza family for sponsoring Kaycee and the impact he makes every day 🐴 🤗

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week to all the superstars who give their time and talents to our program! 🌟

Our community has a strong dedication to volunteerism, displayed through the hundreds of people who support us each day at the farm. Volunteers serve as team leaders, horse leaders, sidewalkers, administrative assistants, event ambassadors, and just about anything they can think of to help our mission move forward.🐴

Volunteers report that serving here is a personal therapeutic outlet and has given them a deeper understanding of disability inclusion.
We couldn't "change lives, one stride at a time" without them! 🎖️

Want to share your volunteer testimony? 🌻 Complete this survey from PATH International and tell us what EQUI-KIDS means to you: http://pathintl.memfox.io/volunteerweek
