π¨ IMPORTANT: If a Service Dog approaches you without their handler, this is what you need to know.
Many people think a Service Dog without their handler is lost, but they're actually on a mission!
Service Dogs are trained to find help when their handler is in distress. If one comes up to you without a person, it's not random, it's intentional.
Their person may be nearby experiencing a medical emergency.
Here's what you should do:
β
οΈ Stay calm
β
οΈ Follow the dog
β
οΈ Be ready to help
Don't ignore them, be the help they are trying to find because in that moment, your response could save a life.
At Mutts With A Mission, our dogs are trained for real-world emergencies, but awareness from the public is just as critical.
