To Be That Self Which One Truly Is

• Facades: The façade is the persona which is covering up the sense of self that is lacking, scared, feels inferior. Moving towards authenticity, even though she/he does not know what that is. Come to being the self, which can be “simply frightened.”
• Ought's: Of what she/he ought to be. “Ought to be good,” which is a parental or cultural message that informs what the person is to be.
• Meeting Expectations: Away from what the culture expects them to be. For example, away from what a current group (college, local culture) is expecting based on pressure to conform.
• Pleasing Others:

• Self-Direction: toward being autonomous, the person chooses her/his goals, how she/he wants to behave and move toward this with fear and caution.
• Being Process: being a fluidity, in flux a changing. Okay with not being the same from day-to-day, striving for conclusions and end-points diminish. Potentialities being born rather than being or becoming a fixed goal.
• Being Complexity: understanding that contradictory nature of the psyche, eg. How a person talks about at times having feelings towards another, such a warmth, frustration, annoyance, sympathy, fear etc.
• Openness to Experience: Living in an open, close, friendly , relationship to one’s experience, and embracing experiences that were rejected, such as experiencing “childish feelings that at one time was rejected. Opening up and experiencing the pain that has been present but repressed.
• Acceptance of Others: A bi-product due to practicing allowing things to be as they are.
• Trust of Self: Being our most Authentic Self, Creativity of The Self, it unique manifestation. eg: Einstein did not have thoughts that “good physicist have.”
