I just came across this and I couldn’t have put this in any better words. It’s not easy, but I’m trying to incorporate this outlook into my life.

“The Ripple Effect
In a world of eight billion people, it’s easy to believe that the only way to initiate profound transformation is to take extreme action. Each of us, however, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others. As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward. The impact you have on the world is greater than you could ever imagine, and the choices you make can have far-reaching consequences. You can use the ripple effect to make a positive difference and spread waves of kindness that will wash over the world.

The recipient of a good deed will likely feel compelled to do a good deed for someone else. Someone feeling the effects of negative energy will be more likely to pass on that negative energy. One act of charity, one thoughtful deed, or even one positive thought can pass from individual to individual, sn*******ng until it becomes a group movement or the ray of hope that saves someone’s life. Every transformation, just like every ripple, has a point of origin. You must believe in your ability to be that point of origin if you want to use the ripples you create to spread goodness. Consider the effect of your thoughts and actions, and try to act graciously as much as possible.

A smile directed at a stranger, a compliment given to a friend, an attitude of laughter, or a thoughtful gesture can send ripples that spread among your loved ones and associates out into your community and throughout the world. You have the power to touch the lives of everyone you come into contact with and everyone those people come into contact with. The momentum of your influence will grow as your ripples move onward and outward. One of those ripples could become a tidal wave of love and kindness.”

So you're too busy to work out or eat healthy. The average American watches 3.2 hours of Netflix per day. It's okay to be honest with yourself and admit that health and fitness are just not really a priority for you right now. When those things become your priorities, the excuses will melt away.

The passage of time is inevitable and can't be stopped. Time is our enemy and we have to make a choice to either engage in a war against physical aging, or surrender. Giving in to the physical deterioration wrought by time is a choice. Getting old is a choice. If you choose to engage in this war, it won't be easy. You will have to make sacrifices, you will have to change your current lifestyle, you will suffer, and you will loose some battles. No one gets out of this life alive, but if you engage in this war against time you will be physically capable to live a much more enjoyable life and do all the things you want to do. If you choose to surrender you will suffer the physical ravages of time. It's your choice. In this video, Nino chose to fight back, and he shows how he is winning his war against time.

I can't stress this idea enough. There are no magic pills to getting healthy and fit. The small daily choices you make will determine your future. You can keep making the same choice that got you to where you are today, or you can make different choices that will change where you'll be tomorrow, either way, consistency is in your choices will determine your future.

Just finished a 4 mile “walkabout” through PHP and on the beach. I used to do these pretty regularly before my knee replacement. My walkabout is a long walk at a brisk pace Interspersed with sets of 3-4 body weight exercises every 3-4 minutes. Today I did 16 sets of jumping jacks, push ups and split squats during my walk. I haven’t been able to do this in a few years but now that my aftermarket knee and hip are fully acclimated with the rest of my body all bets are off. If it wasn’t for the severe thunderstorms and lightning I would have kept going. The storm rolled in pretty fast and furious and even I was prudent enough to get off the beach. Joint replacements are just a speed bump not a reason to stop moving.

My Story

I created this studio to help people achieve their health and fitness goals. It’s not just a gym, it’s a place that is all about helping you wade through the confusing and often elusive world that is health and fitness. I’ve created a fun, non-intimidating environment for clients to learn about nutrition, exercise, movement, and mind/body/stress balance. My goal is to educate and guide folks to the life they’ve always dreamed of. Let me use my own experiences and education to help you avoid the many pitfalls that can keep you from attaining your goals.
