🏃‍♀️🍀 Running the Shamrock this weekend?

Are you racing one event or multiple during the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend in Virginia Beach? Whether you’re running the 8K, Half, Marathon, or going all in with the challenge races, the final few days before race weekend can make a big difference in how you feel on race day.

Here are 5 PT-approved tips to help you prepare in the final days:

1️⃣ Prioritize recovery – Your training is done. Keep runs short and easy and prioritize sleep.
2️⃣ Stay mobile – Light mobility and foam rolling for calves, hips, and hamstrings can help keep your stride smooth.
3️⃣ Keep strength light – Think activation (glutes + core), not heavy workouts.
4️⃣ Stick to familiar foods – Race week isn’t the time to experiment with new meals. Hydrate and fuel consistently.
5️⃣ Address aches early – Small pains can turn into bigger problems if ignored.

If you experience pain during or after the race, physical therapy can help speed recovery and get you back to running safely. From mobility work to running mechanics and injury treatment, we’ve got you covered. 💪

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

One of our favorite manual techniques:
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

It’s gentle, effective, and can make a big difference for patients dealing with:

➡️ Chronic Pain

➡️ Stiffness after injury

As the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to fall, many of us head outdoors to rake, prune, and prep our yards for winter. While fall yardwork is a seasonal tradition, it also brings a spike in back pain complaints—especially in the lower back. At RTC, we see it every year!

Here’s the good news: With a few simple strategies, you can reduce your risk of injury and keep your spine healthy while still enjoying the benefits of outdoor chores. Click the link in our bio to read our latest blog post to learn these valuable tips!
