I don't know who needs to hear this, but starting yesterday...each of our days now we will have a little more light until the summer solstice.

On paper, minutes don't seem like much...but when we take a moment to really absorb that light, it can feel like just the time we need. I know for me it does.

The first thing I do when I open my eyes in the morning is look at my window...I search for the little peeks of light peering through the cracks of my shades. That little bit of light helps me feel hope for the day ahead...it lets me know the sun always rises eventually, even on the darkest nights.

How do you spend those extra moments of light in your day?

Lately I’ve been reminded that we all carry a quiet wisdom inside us, a compass that nudges us toward what feels safe, true, and aligned.
But sometimes the world gets so loud that we forget to listen.

I often go back to this picture of a sunset I snapped while on a bike ride with my husband. We came around the corner to it, and it felt like the world was saying "pause Jenn".
It felt like a reminder to come home to myself…
to breathe…
to trust the truth my body already knows.

If you’re feeling pulled in a hundred directions, I hope this is your reminder too:
pause, soften, and return to your inner compass.
It has never stopped guiding you. ❤️

Ever have one of those days where your brain sees a short to-do list and reacts like you’ve asked it to perform a full-scale Broadway production?
Yeah… same.

When stress hits high and executive functioning hits low, your brain can slip into “shut down to survive” mode. It feels like laziness, but it’s actually your nervous system waving a tiny white flag.

Here’s what actually helps when your brain goes into panic/freeze mode:

1. Acknowledge what's happening....remind yourself it's stress paralysis aka freeze mode and it's a normal reaction to feeling stressed

2. Ground yourself. This is your nervous system responding. Slowly exhale, take a drink of ice water, stretch ...do something to bring your body back to earth.

3. Pick the easiest task and shrink it down to the smallest size. By this I mean, what is the very smallest step of that task? Find it and try to complete it. This sends a signal to your brain and body that you are moving and creates a snowball of momentum.

4. Erase shame. Remind yourself that everyone, even the people you don't think this happens to, experiences this to some degree!

Let's tackle this day together!

Hello Northland!

Part of what we believe in at Align North is giving back to the community and making sure people have what they need. So as part of that initiative, we have created a food pantry (alongside our propagation stand). So now, you can take a cozy houseplant to nurture, and hopefully find the food you need to fill your belly!

Our pantry is open to everyone, no questions asked. Our only ask is that you take only what you need so that there is plenty to share with others who need it too.

Thank you all for letting us be a part of your community!

**If you have questions on the food pantry or how to access it, please call or text 218-248-2303 or email jennifer@wealignnorth.com
