Looking for a fun way to benefit our community? The annual Moonshine Soiree will take place Saturday, February 21st at the Visalia Country Club. Tickets will be on sale next month, so save the date now! Expect an elegant evening will amazing live and silent auction packages, plus heart-touching stories from Kaweah Health Hospice. All proceeds will benefit the Open Arms House, the area's only "social model" hospice home.

One more post on last Friday's Twinkle & Toast Christmas Tree Auction, to say thank YOU to all who attended. Overall we raised nearly $100,000 thanks to generous donors, bidders, sponsors and ticket purchasers.

We were cautiously optimistic about how well we'd do with this first-time event, but we sold out (and then some) well in advance. Our goal is to do this again next year, even bigger and better. If you missed it this year, make sure you come in 2026! We'll let you know when a date and location are finalized. Until then, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and on to the new year and all it will bring!

We had 14 trees up for auction at Twinkle & Toast, with a variety of aesthetics but all beautiful and worthy of lighting up a home. Our amazing tree bidders even out some back up for auction, helping us raise even more funds.

All trees have now been delivered, and are beautifying patient homes and local businesses, as well as at bidders' houses. Which one is your favorite?

Thank you so much to the Human Bean for its donation of more than $10,000 from its Coffee for a Cure day! This amazing business donates ALL the proceeds from their three local stores on a Friday in October for our Breast Cancer Fund, making a huge difference for local patients. We can't wait to see you again next year, and learn how to make some more drinks.

Another Twinkle & toast shout-out goes to Kaweah Health's almost-retired CEO Gary Herbst. Gary has been such an amazing supporter of the Foundation during his tenure, appearing at our events and being a generous donor. His caring and hard work have not only made Kaweah Health a success, but have helped the Foundation reach its goals and then some! Thank you for 34 wonderful years, Gary - we hope you enjoy every moment of retirement. But don't be a stranger - you are still invited to all our gatherings and events!

Our humblest thanks go to Jennifer Welch Nicholson for being the amazing featured speaker at Twinkle & Toast. The story of her health journey brought tears to every eye in the house - she was diagnosed with kidney failure, got amazing care from Kaweah Health, and then received a new kidney just 10 month later. Now, just over a year later, she is back at Riata Ranch teaching and performing and being an inspiration to everyone. Doing rope tricks in a gown and high heels is amazing enough, try doing it just a year after transplant surgery! Jennifer's indomitable spirit inspired all the T&T guests - we cannot thank her enough and wish her continued good health and fortune.

What a night! The inaugural Twinkle & Toast was a beautiful night for our more than 250 guests, many of whom will be having a gorgeous Christmas tree delivered to their home this week! But people were on display too, with stories from Kaweah Health's outgoing CEO Gary Herbst, CEO-to-be Marc Mertz, and Riata Ranch's Jennifer Nicholson, who spoke about her moving healthcare journey and how Kaweah saved her life (then she did a lil roping - yeehaw!). We'll have more details for you soon, but to all who helped us, broke bread with us, or donated: THANK YOU.
