Kaweah Health - Family Medicine Residency Program Our resident physicians are accepting new patients at Sequoia Health and Wellness Center. Patients of all ages (including Pediatrics and OB) are welcome!

In 2014 the City of Visalia made a proclamation that each year, the first week of March is officially "Resident Appreciation Week"! I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all of the Family Medicine Residents who work long hard hours every day throughout their training. From the FM Clinic to the inpatient unit, including but not limited to: cardiology, EM, Geriatrics, ICU, Nephrology, Neurology, OB/GYN, Orthopedics Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Rheumatology, Sports Medicine, Surgery, and Urgent Care - they are working to provide amazing care to each of their patients. If you happen to see a Family Medicine (or other KD Resident) this week, be sure to tell them they are APPRECIATED!

These seven new resident physicians will soon begin seeing patients in the Family Medicine Center. This week we are celebrating Resident Appreciation Week here at Kaweah Delta and today we are spotlighting Family Medicine Resident Ann-Gelle Carter M.D. Originally from Chicago Illinois, she has been a Resident here at Kaweah Delta since June of 2018. When it comes to the Kaweah Delta Residency Program Ann-Gelle said “This program does a really good job listening to what it is that we need and finding ways to make it happen, to make this experience that much more rewarding as we go through the challenges in learning how to be a doctor post-medical school”. In 2014 the City of Visalia declared the first full week of March as Resident Appreciation Week. Since that time we have continued to grow! KDHCD began with 12 residents in 2 programs and we currently have 108 residents in six programs! On behalf of the Family Medicine Program, I'd like to wish a very happy Resident Appreciation Week to all of the KD residents! You've contributed a great deal to our programs and to our community at large. We know your patients appreciate you and we'd like to publicly recognize you as well! Thank you for all you do!!

The KD Family Medicine Residency is excited to welcome Dr. Jodi Parungao as a core faculty member with our program! Dr. Parungao and her family relocated to Visalia, joining us in August 2018 from the University of New Mexico. She will be supervising our residents in the Family Medicine Center in addition to working clinically in other areas. We're happy to have her as a new addition to our program!
