The Visalia Rawhide have long brought families together through baseball, community events, and local outreach, and we are thrilled to support an organization that shares our commitment to strengthening the community we serve.

At Extra Caring Homecare, our mission is to help seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent in the place they love most—their own home. Through this partnership, we look forward to connecting with more families, participating in community events, and continuing to advocate for aging in place with compassionate one-on-one care. After recently connecting with so many wonderful community members at the City of Tulare Community Resource Fair, we are looking forward to participating in the Tulare–Kings County Veterans 2nd Stand Down hosted at Valley Strong Ballpark, home of the Visalia Rawhide. 🇺🇸

We’re excited to start the year as a newly approved in‑home care provider with Family Healthcare Network PACE — a Medicare/Medicaid‑funded program supporting seniors 55+ who may qualify for care at no cost. After what we saw, we can confirm this year’s decorations and booths were absolutely stunning. We are so proud to be part of such a tenacious community. June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month
At Extra Caring Homecare, we believe in protecting the dignity, safety, and independence of our seniors. 💜

Throughout this month, we’re joining others across the nation to raise awareness about elder abuse—because every older adult deserves to live free from harm and with the respect they’ve earned.

🚨 Elder abuse can take many forms: physical, emotional, financial, or neglect—and it often goes unnoticed. That’s why it’s so important for all of us—families, caregivers, and communities—to stay informed, be vigilant, and speak up when something feels wrong.

Let’s work together to ensure our elders are treated with the care, compassion, and dignity they deserve—this month and always.

📅 Mark your calendars: World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is June 15th.

We’re so grateful to the VA Central California Health Care System for hosting such a thoughtful and informative Caregiver Summit. It was an incredible opportunity to learn from both VA staff and community partners about innovative ways to support those who care for our veterans and seniors.

We walked away with valuable tools and insights from personal care techniques to art therapy and stress reduction methods that we look forward to implementing with our caregivers. Thank you for helping us strengthen the care we provide and for investing in the well-being of those who serve behind the scenes. 💙

We’re excited to invite you to the upcoming Caregiver Summit, hosted by the Caregiver Support Program at VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS), 2615 E. Clinton Avenue, Fresno, CA. It will take place on Friday, May 9th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM in our Auditorium.

The Caregiver Summit is a unique opportunity for VA and community partners to come together, build meaningful connections, and explore how we can better engage and empower the caregivers we collectively serve.

This year’s summit will include:

Dedicated time for collaboration to identify service gaps and begin building actionable solutions for caregivers in our local community

A resource fair with VA and community providers offering brochures, flyers, and handouts—giving participants the tools to create their own caregiver resource toolkit

Presentations from the VACCHCS Caregiver Support Program, including topics on Caregiver Stress Reduction Techniques and Caregiver First Aid

Free Continuing Education Units will be available to eligible participants
