In case you were wondering where we stand…

It feels heavy to show up and talk about everyday things when nothing about the world feels everyday right now. The headlines are relentless, and some days my heart feels like it is carrying all of it at once.

I see it in my patients’ bodies before they ever say a word. Tight shoulders. Shallow breaths. Nervous systems stuck in survival mode. And if you are feeling that weight too, please know you are not imagining it and you are not alone.

On the hardest days, I remind myself why we do this work. Helping regulate nervous systems matters. Creating a space where people can exhale matters. Because when our bodies feel safer, we think clearer, love harder, and show up with more compassion for ourselves and for each other.

This is how we contribute. This is how we care. And this is how we keep choosing humanity, even when it feels hard.

Tech Neck Series:
Resisted Ranges of Motion

This is another simple exercise to increase strength in your neck, thereby decreasing postural strain and pain!

The muscle activation here is about 10%…no movement actually should be happening!

Replace your daily doomscrolling with these simple exercises and watch your neck pain melt away.

Stop if pain increases and consult your chiropractor.

Be sure to share with someone who may benefit from this info! Also, this is just a drop in the bucket…there is so much more! Schedule an appointment for additional support.

Tech Neck Series:
Chin Retractions!

These are so subtle, and sometimes are easier to do in the car with the resistance of your headrest, but you simply move your head from a relaxed position to a retracted position - meaning your ears line up over your shoulders. You DO NOT push your head out (protract) and then pull it back (retract)…simply relax, then retract.

These are a great way to reduce postural strain on the neck, reducing shoulder tension, and headaches. Try 15-20 daily for best results!

Stop if pain increases and consult your chiropractor.

Tech Neck Series:
Wall Angels!

This one is great for waking up the upper back, as well as decreasing neck pain and headaches!

Aim for 15-20 daily. Stop if pain increases and consult your chiropractor.

Tech Neck Series:
Let’s talk microbreaks!

For every 20 minutes we spend in one position our body start to adapt to that position…that’s called hysteresis. That is why you feel a little achy after spending an extended period of time in one spot. Microbreaks help to decrease the strain on your body caused by postural strain throughout the day.

They are a great reset!

What is your favorite break during your work day?

Dr. King’s words remind us that caring for others starts with showing up…with compassion, presence, and intention. For us, that looks like listening closely, creating space for healing, and helping our patients feel supported in a stressful world.

We believe doing for others also means helping people feel better so they can show up more fully for their families, their work, and their communities.

We are open today and have availability for those with the day off who want to take care of their body and nervous system.

Reminder that Dr. Ochs will be out of the office on Thursday, so be sure to plan ahead.
