👋🏼 Hey! It’s me, Dr. Ciara- well yea WHO else would it be on MY page?
I feel the desire to “reintroduce” myself- not because “there’s a lot of new people here” but because I’ve completely shifted into a new space lately.

As you know by now I had a baby last year and becoming a mother has been challenging in every best way. It’s pushed to me step into a space that I knew I was headed to but just didn’t know when and now I’m in it! BAM. And like a lot of things I do I hit the ground running.

This new space has a lot to do with the support and care I provide soon-to-be-moms and mother’s. I don’t talk too much about it here but warning- I will be! As a chiropractic student I restarted the “Peds Club” on campus. I lead the club meetings, communicated with an advisor, brought in local pediatric chiropractors to speak on their experience in practice and treating the pediatric population- this included pregnant women. The club complemented our Pediatric Chiropractic course that was a regular part of our curriculum in the last year of the program. Now I’m additionally certified to adjust pregnant women.

Anyway, the meat and potatoes of this all is that I feel like I’m starting the “peds club” in my office again. I’m bringing in all the preggo bellies!! I’ll likely start talking more about supporting soon-to-be-moms in my practice and virtually. Some real life (scary) goals for this club are:
•educating & empowering women who have zero plans to be pregnant anytime soon about external hormonal influences and how it’s effecting them in the long run (like when they WANT to get pregnant)
•providing self care tips during pregnancy
•why chiropractic care is the thing you didn’t know you needed & shouting from the rooftops that ‘you don’t have to suffer while you’re pregnant’
•pelvic balance and exercise after birth (my personal journey)
•pointing you to online educational resources for birthing during a pandemic
•And my latest passion- FINDING CUTE BREASTFEEDING CLOTHES! 🤣

There’s a lot so to keep things organized I’m going to share all of it on my page.

🙏🏽As always thanks for being here & for the support. Let me know if there’s a topic I can add!

This is everything I’ve been working towards in the past 2 years. It didn’t start out this way but it evolved into being conscious about what and how I consume. I’m not perfect but as Dr. Aviva Romm puts it “get as close to 100% natural” as you can. . Basically just do your best, even a few days make a difference (see article).

What can you do to protect those you love - and the planet you love? Integrate simple eco-conscious practices into your life and family.

They say it could be “any day now” and I feel him moving lower and lower in my pelvis!!

& I have been fortunate to experience many journeys together: completing our first half marathons & marathons together, graduating as Doctors of Chiropractic, moving to LA together, starting practices, but THIS will be our greatest adventure together by far!

Its getting REAL and my strategy for healing & recovery is now a huge focus. I’m so glad I found to make this process a bit less daunting! Thanks to and their Postpartum Lying In program I feel prepared as ever for intentional healing and recovery after delivery.

I laid all my recovery items out in the bathroom (because that’s where I’ll most likely use them) or next to my bed. Andrew was confused when he saw them out there 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

The kit lays out a day to day and sometimes hour recommendation for use of each healing therapy starting the day I give birth! (Ex: The feminine wash should be started 5hours after birth).

I’m nerdily excited about my sitz bath for the toilet since we don’t have a traditional bathtub I got this off Amazon 🙌🏽 I’ll go into more details in my stories highlight on this kit

Like SORRY GUYS BUT THIS IS REAL LIFE. The body doesn’t just “bounce back”- okay maybe when you’re in your 20’s having kids but ya girl is 37 so I’m being intentional AF with all of this cuz I need some longevity in these bones! And balancing your hormones after pregnancy is SO vital for future pregnancies . . or just life in general.

You all know from my work with athletes that I’m all about intentional self care for performance longevity so it’s been natural for me to transition that mindset over and apply it to pregnancy & birth. Thanks for listening 😂💖
