Don't miss this one hour webinar with Dr. Gregory Tasian and our clinical team who will be discussing PKIDS trial results, the largest study ever conducted for youth undergoing kidney stone surgery. The first half of the event will go over the trial results while the second half will be a Q&A where you will be able to ask questions, share your experience and help us understand how to share this information, so future patient families can decide about the best type of surgery to treat kidney stones.

To learn more and join the webinar on Nov. 17, email us at pkids@chop.edu.

For more than 30 years, Olivia and her family searched for a medical diagnosis. Last year, her sister — then a neurology resident — urged them to try genetic testing for a second time. That decision led them from North Carolina to Philadelphia to meet neurologist Dr. Joseph Vithayathil in our BPAN specialty clinic. Here, they finally found what they had been missing all along — a diagnosis, support, and a community. Learn more about BPAN, a rare neurodegenerative disease at: http://ms.spr.ly/6185tJlk7.

Good news for families! A new study from our researchers found that peanut allergies in young children are becoming less common — dropping by about 43% since guidelines began encouraging earlier introduction of peanut-based foods.

The Philadelphia Inquirer spoke with Drs. David Hill and Stanislaw Gabryszewski, physicians in our Division of Allergy and Immunology, about their study and what these findings mean for patients and families.

Read more, below.

There was a 43% decline in peanut allergies among U.S. children under 3 after the release of new early introduction guidelines.

When your child is sick or hurt, your primary care provider should always be your first stop. But if it’s after hours or your pediatrician’s office is closed, the CHOP Care Network has you covered with multiple options for care — right when you need it.

The following information can help you decide the best place to get care when your child is sick or injured so they get their medical needs met.

10/31/2025

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, starting November 1, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) emergency benefits will be paused and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) benefits will pause on November 8. Both PA and NJ will continue processing SNAP applications and case updates during this time.

We know that many of our patient families and community members count on these programs, and access to healthy food is essential for everyone.

If your family needs support, we’ve gathered a list of local food resources and assistance programs to help during this time: http://ms.spr.ly/6182tEc2s.
