Members are welcome to join a series of virtual OA events this November, each offering time for reflection, connection, and renewal in recovery.
🕯️ Candlelight Gratitude Meeting – November 18
A monthly gathering of gratitude, experience, strength, and hope. Together, we’ll reflect on uplifting OA readings and take part in a candlelight ceremony honoring the Promises. Bringing a candle is optional but adds a warm, personal touch.
🌿 Acceptance Workshop – November 23
This workshop explores what it means to live in acceptance — learning to recognize it, practice it, and apply it in different areas of life.
💛 Body Image Step Study – November 25
A recovery-focused study of the Twelve Steps with an emphasis on body image, self-compassion, and spiritual growth.
Each gathering provides an opportunity to grow in understanding and connection with others on the same path.

“Struggling with food doesn’t have to be permanent. OA’s poster with pull-away tabs and QR code can guide someone to the 15 Questions and the support they need.”
Many of us have felt lost, alone, or controlled by food. These posters provide an attractive way to reach out during the holiday season, when many struggle most. Each tab and QR code lead directly to OA’s 15 Questions, offering the suffering compulsive eater a simple, safe next step toward joining a fellowship that understands and supports recovery. The poster also includes space to add your local meeting information, making it easier for newcomers to find connection.

What does "anonymity" mean in OA? 🌿
Being anonymous means that what you say at a meeting stays at the meeting, and no one but you can disclose your membership. In addition, there are no stars or celebrities in OA, and no one represents OA publicly. Inside OA, your outside status doesn’t matter—we get to know each other from the inside out. We are all equal, sharing a common problem with a shared solution. 💙

Step 9 is all about making amends where possible: “Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.” This Step allows us to confront and address the harm we’ve caused through our compulsive eating behaviors. By making sincere efforts to make things right, we can heal old wounds and rebuild trust. Step 9 is not just about fixing past mistakes; it’s also about embracing personal responsibility and fostering genuine connections with others. Through this process, we gain greater self-awareness and emotional clarity, which is necessary to continue further in our recovery journey.. Dive into Step 9 to restore and strengthen your relationships and personal growth and embrace the Spiritual Principle for Step 9, which is love. 🌟

Welcome

Overeaters Anonymous is a Fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively.

There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology or religious doctrine; we take no position on outside issues.

Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive eating and to carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer.
