March is , and our Social Services Designee, Mackenzie Riedel, deserves a round of applause! 👏

SSDs helps residents adjust to new surroundings, connects families with resources, and advocates for residents rights. From tackling paperwork to offering a shoulder to lean on, Mackenzie keeps our team and residents smiling. Thank you for all you do!

Q&A

What does a typical day look like for you at LTC?

-Typical day for me starts with checking my email, reading over charts, checking my calendar, scheduling care plans, taking residents to Dr. appointments, and reaching out to families regarding their loved ones.

What’s a challenge you face in helping residents and families?

-I would honestly say being able to leave work at work. Some stories stick with me. Most of all the residents feel like they are my family

Whats one thing you wish more people knew about the work you do?

-That it’s not just paperwork or care plans or resident appointments. It’s helping families and residents process guilt, fear and hard decisions. As well as celebrating small wins that mean everything!

Is there a specific resident story or memory that stands out to you?

-I hear all kinds of stories day to day, and there are some memories that I hold close to my heart, they all stand out to me in different way!
