Nurses don’t have weak backs.
They have one of the most physically demanding jobs there is.
Add together long shifts, unpredictable loads, awkward positions and short staffing.
Back pain in nursing isn’t a personal failure.
It’s an exposure problem.
My goal isn’t to tell nurses to “be careful.”
It’s to help nurses build back capacity so the job feels a little easier.

You don’t need to practice 3×10 reps of falling to get better at falling.
What actually protects you is capacity, not “fall technique.”

Build stronger legs.
Improve single-leg balance.
Do enough cardio and upper-body work so that if you do fall, you’re strong enough to get up.

Strength and fitness reduce fall risk way more than rehearsing the accident ever will.

Negative self-talk is more powerful than you realize.

If back pain is loud, your brain usually fills in the worst-case story.
That doesn’t mean it’s true.

Pain is real, but it’s often made worse by fear, uncertainty, and old messages about being “fragile.”

The biggest impact usually comes from lowering the threat, building confidence, and introducing the right amount of movement (not avoiding everything or “resting it forever”).

If your back keeps talking you out of the life you want to live, let’s change the story.
