Happy December!
This is the time of year to sparkle. To bring light to the world as we move through the darkest days of the year. When all the world wants to sleep, retreat be the Star that twinkles, that warms your soul and brings a smile to others.
Tonight, the full Cold Moon drifts through the Pleiades star cluster, also known as the “Seven Sisters.” If you look east after sunset, you can see the Moon brushing past these bright, sparkling stars. Binoculars or a telescope will make it even more magical, letting you watch the stars wink in and out as the Moon passes by. For the most dramatic view, watch just after moonrise, around 5:15 pm CST, when the Moon appears larger near the horizon—a phenomenon called the “Moon Illusion.” Tonight, the heavens invite you to pause, look up, and notice the small wonders that sparkle around you. Reflect on your year, not the hardships, but the blessings, the wonders and the things that made you smile. Bring in that energy again, plant it in your heart and take that magic to others.
I’m finding time to get out in it and hear and feel the crunch under my feet. Breath in that cold air that exhilarates as well as cools the lungs. Seeing the snowflakes and bringing out the inner child as I open my mouth and try to catch a few flakes. Take time to ignite the inner child in you and see the wonders of the season. You’ll be surprised the joy and peace it brings.
