I will be back from maternity this next week and am now opening my books to new clients through Waco Therapy!
I offer both virtual appointments (to anyone in Texas) and in-person sessions in my office located in downtown Waco. I am private pay and am able to provide superbills for reimbursement through insurance companies.
I love providing safe and gender affirming therapy to our LGBTQ+ community as well as working with female identifying people of all ages. One of my favorite groups of people to work with are those who haven’t liked therapy in the past and those who are exploring therapy for the first time. I love making people comfortable and removing stigma around therapy!
Most of my experience is in sexual & gender identity processing, shame, major health diagnoses, inattentive ADHD, and trauma. If you think I may be a good fit for someone you know, please keep me in mind!

Just a reminder: there is no right way to handle the devastating news from today.
During a time where things feel out of control, remember that you have control over your media consumption. Limit your access if you know that social media is increasing your anxiety and/or other mental health symptoms.
You can grieve, process, and be furious.
You can fight, speak out, organize, and network.
Some people can do these thing at the same time and some need to do one of these before the other.
Be gentle with yourself and don’t compare your reactions today to the reactions of other people on social media.
There is no judgment during a collective trauma ❤️

Do you water your plants whether or not they’re blooming? We know in our mind that they need nourishment no matter what, even if they aren’t exactly growing how we think they should be or they haven’t flourished. 🌿⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We know that watering is essential and is necessary to make sure they will stay healthy and bloom in the future.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you care for and “water” yourself on days when you’re blooming? 🌱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On a day where you accomplish something great or you love your outfit- perhaps you exude more confidence and feel good about yourself. Maybe you practice some self talk or hype yourself up for a meeting or a conversation you have been wanting to have.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What about on the day you can’t seem to get into the groove of things. Whether it be internal or external and you just aren’t feeling proud or confident in yourself. 🥀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do hype yourself up on these days? Compliment yourself? Practice self talk? Tell yourself you’re proud of yourself?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Why not?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If we were to only care for and water our plants on the days they’re flourishing and we stopped the moment they began to wilt- they would die. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So why do we withhold this same care from ourselves?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I encourage you to “water” yourself this week- ESPECIALLY on the days you don’t feel you deserve the praise or hype up. Pick something specific you’re grateful for or proud of yourself for (some days it can be simply getting out of bed!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we begin to encourage and love ourselves on our hard days, we can train our brain to filter out the negative narrative so many of us play on repeat during hard times.

Maybe feel everything, all of the time. You can’t help but become overwhelmed with emotion at things that don’t invoke the same response in other people. You love big and you hurt big. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It can be exhausting, right? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What if being “too much” is your super power? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not everyone cries at beauty and not everyone laughs at bad jokes. Not everyone can truly empathize with those who are hurting and not everyone holds nostalgia close to their hearts. But YOU DO! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I pulled a gratitude card on Sunday that said ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ “What a gift to be able to feel so much. This power is always within you” ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Let’s flip the script- being a feeler isn’t a weakness, it’s a magic power! You have the power to consume the entirety of a sunrise and let it move you to tears. The power to truly appreciate the people and things in your life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hold your gift tight and be proud of your feelings. Let them bloom and don’t let society s***f them out because it makes people uncomfortable. I think if we all did a little more feeling we would have a world filled with more wonder, vulnerability, and gratitude ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*If this is sounding cheesy to you or a bit like toxic positivity- I invite those feelings and encourage you to explore. Is there resentment? Shame? Have you begun to believe the people who tell you that you’re too much? Really lean in to that inner monologue and see where it takes you. Being able to process these lines of thinking in therapy is what it’s all about.*
