✨ 25 Years. One Community. A Whole Lot of Gratitude. ✨

This month, Waco Vision Source turns 25.
For a quarter century, we’ve had the privilege of caring for generations of families—helping kids see clearly in school, adults see confidently at work, and grandparents protect the vision they’ve spent a lifetime building.

We didn’t get here alone.
We got here because Waco trusted us with something personal: sight.

And because of that trust, we’re celebrating this milestone by giving back in a meaningful way all year long.
Welcome to our 25th anniversary year.

💛 Love How You See.

It is only fitting that our first matching sponsor is Regency Park Properties. Dr. Virden and Broker Ellen Derrick have been volunteering to help pets in our community for over two decades. From the Humane Society of Central Texas's Food and Wine Festival, to serving on the Board of Directors of the Animal Birth Control Clinic together for a decade, to supporting Fuzzy Friends Rescue and the Guardian Angel Society, they have spent countless hours together working to make Central Texas a better place for pets and people.

We'd appreciate you using the donation link in the comments below or at www.wacovision.com , and please make sure to say thanks to our friends at Regency Park Properties for being our matching sponsor for January!

Come see us if you can’t kick those itchy eyes!

We’re near the peak of cedar fever season, and if you haven’t had it yet, don’t speak too soon. The predominant species of mountain cedar is Ashe juniper in Central Texas, and its release of pollen during winter is so concentrated and widespread that you don’t have to be allergic to pollen to be affected.

Ashe juniper pollination is set off by cold fronts when dry, windy pressure changes cause the pollen cones to rapidly open and release pollen grains. This can be so intense at times that it looks like smoke is coming from the tree.

The concentration of pollen causes our immune systems to fight back which can cause fatigue, sore throat, runny nose, partial loss of smell, and sometimes slight fever. If your fever is higher than 101.5°F, then pollen likely isn’t the cause.

🎉 25 Years of Vision. Celebrating by Giving Back. 🐾

To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’re launching 25·25 Impact—a year-long effort to raise $25,000 for Fuzzy Friends Rescue, our local no-kill animal rescue that is doing incredible work right here in our community.

For more than two decades, Dr. Virden’s volunteer time has centered on helping animals in need right here in our community. Supporting Fuzzy Friends Rescue is part of that long-standing commitment—and one we’re proud to continue throughout our 25th anniversary year.

All year long:
• We’ll donate $1 for every eye exam
• Patients and friends are encouraged to donate, too
• Local businesses will match patient donations each month

This isn’t just an anniversary.
It’s a thank-you to the community that’s supported us for 25 years.

💛 Love How You See. Love Where You Live.
