This past Saturday, our team participated in the 2026 Community Opportunity Event (COE) hosted by the Waco Police Department.

About 50 organizations came together to share and connect attendees to community services and resources.

Our Velocity team engaged hundreds of families, adults, and children in conversations on the risk factors and screening options for liver disease, along with our cutting-edge research studies.

Thank you to all the volunteers and officers with Waco PD for making this a fun and welcoming event with great free food, music, and prize giveaways!

We are thrilled to share that our Waco research team has been recognized as a top performing center within the 89bio/Roche ENlighten Cirrhosis trial!

This is a phase 3 study to evaluate this promising treatment for compensated liver cirrhosis due to MASH (fatty liver).

Congratulations to our lead research coordinator on the study, ✨Clare✨, and the rest of our incredible team!

Be on the lookout for a new commercial in the next few months, with our new team members.

is a program that gives our team members paid time off to volunteer with an organization that serves our communities.

This week our community liaison, Jonatan, chose to volunteer with the WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program at a local elementary school. This program helps provide positive male role models for students, reduces bullying, and enhances campus safety allowing school staff to focus on providing quality instruction. This week he spent a day at the school monitoring halls & exterior doors, assisting teachers in the classroom, engaging & encouraging students, and helping with the 2nd grade egg hunt!

Imagine a beautiful Saturday morning at the park, learning about an important health topic from a local doctor, and going for a walk with some new friends.

That could be you tomorrow, Saturday, February 21st! Come join us for Walk With A Doc!

Walk With A Doc is a global program with local chapters all around the world and our Waco one is led by the McLennan County Medical Society.

Each FREE monthly walk begins with a short discussion on a health topic led by a community physician, followed by a 60-min walk around the park.

In Waco, we meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9am at Mountain View Park.

And FREE T-shirts! (while supplies last)
