Connect A Vet Empowering those who have served our nation and now our community. Readjusting to life outside the military can be a difficult transition for many veterans.

With the help of a Connect-A-Vet volunteer, a veteran does not have to face this challenge alone. Our country’s warriors need your help transitioning back into society and everyday life. By mentoring a veteran, you can give back to those who have given so much. You will be the link between the veteran and the resources provided by RSVP’s Connect-A-Vet program. Your time, talents and selflessness are greatly appreciated and needed. Mentorship provides personal rewards that boost morale, optimism and ambition. Join today! For veterans returning to central Texas, you will receive guidance throughout your transition with the help of a mentor provided by RSVP's Connect-A-Vet and be embraced by the community through local volunteer efforts. As a veteran volunteer through RSVP’s Connect-A-Vet, you will have the opportunity to:
• Receive personalized case management
• Receive financial benefit counseling
• Build your resume
• Receive career planning guidance
• Acquire experience and marketable skills to add to your resume
• Network with various contacts throughout the community

RENTAL ASSISTANCE - EOAC, in partnership with the City of Waco, introduces the Rental Assistance Program (RAPMFP). RAPMFP provides assistance with rent and mortgage payments to help families who have been affected by COVID-19, due to job loss and reduction in income. To avoid an eviction and foreclosure, the RAPMFP assists the families with up to three months of payments. Assistance includes help for low-income families who qualify, and meet income guidelines, established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, with rental or mortgage assistance and utilities to prevent and avoid evictions and homelessness.
• First-come, first serve
• $800 a month for up to three months payable to landlord and/or utility companies (excluding water bills)
• Assistance not to exceed $2,400 in total
