Most of the time, you do not need a referral to come in and see me. So don’t feel like you need to call your primary care and have them go through the referral system, which will then take a week to send the referral to me, which gets locked in behind the 10 other referrals I will have received that day.

just give us a call 254-776-4961

Will be open tomorrow afternoon ready to see patients. Give us a shout if you need to reschedule or if you’d like to be seen. We will also have appointments available Friday morning to help deal with the backlog.

My practice is dedicated to taking care of you so you’re living your best current life and also protect protecting your future self. As a part of your perimenopause and menopause conversations, you should have an individualized conversation about osteoporosis risk, and how you can be best informed about your particular clinical situation.

01/25/2026

I left one out: premature menopause from either medical, surgical, or genetic factors. The bottom line here is that we’re not only trying to help you feel well during the perimenopause and menopause transition, but we want to set you up for best health. And that means we really need to watch your bones. So if you don’t know the strategic plan you need to follow to optimize your best bone health, go to somebody who can have that conversation with you.

Everybody wants to feel better, and I believe that there can be used cases for the judicious prescribing of thyroid replacement. Unfortunately, many of the so-called hormone experts are throwing NP thyroid at everyone. They will tell you that the TSH does not matter

and that is absolutely wrong

be very careful to not allow yourself to become hyperthyroid on Thyroid meds. The consequences to your bones could be devastating and eventually put your life at risk.

if you ask your so-called hormone expert about this, they will tell you that I am wrong.

i’m not

I left one out: the medical spa that decides it wants to do facials, tattoo removal, injectables, IV hydration, weight loss, hormones…. Anything to make a buck.

These clinics are almost never run by a gynecologist or primary care physician with special expertise and hormone replacement. Don’t go to these places for your hormone therapy.

Our electronic medical record is still a working progress, but we are slowly ramping up new patient availability.

if you’re having trouble, feel free to send me an email directly at rich@wacogyn.com.

Every woman deserves an in-depth conversation with a hormone expert. Come and see me if you would like to learn how the perimenopause and menopause transition actually work.

Opinion number one: the health insurance industry does not care about your health. Insurance companies that do not cover simple things like Estrogen replacement patches are deplorable and do not deserve our support.

Fact number one: the typical weekly dose of testosterone injection is 10 mg per week. I am seeing people on 80 or 90 mg given every two weeks. That is inappropriately high dosing and you should not take this.

We appreciate your patience as we work through our new EMR implementation. Some of the processes, especially with compounded medications are already improving.

I also continued to advocate the patients come in and get their annual exams, including a pelvic period. It is rare that we find something other than vaginal atrophy, which is quite common. But sometimes we find things that are catastrophic that could have been dealt with in a much more simple fashion if we had early detection.

We appreciate everybody’s patience with us as we work through a new implementation of electronic medical record. It’s going to continue to be a pain and to be a little bit clunky, but ultimately, we will have better integrity of our prescription process, more complete notes, a fully functioning portal that allows for better bidirectional communication, etc.

This is a continued investment in our business that is solely focused on providing better care for you. It’s definitely going to suck for a while, but on the other side, the care will be even better. That is always my goal.
