As I said, I am not bashing any individual business. I have friends and patients who are involved in different medical ventures who are very professional and very good at what they do. They work in close alignment with medical directors and are very scrupulous.

but at this point, I think that is more the exception than the rule.

just because somebody is good at your Botox does not mean they have any business delving into specialty care.

PSA for those of you who use testosterone replacement.

I continue to be baffled by why so many people continue to pay $100 a month for an injection that can be given for 1/10 of that per month. At HOME.

it’s almost like I’m taking crazy pills sometimes when I try to think through that kind of stuff.

Even during this prolonged reel, I did not give all of the risks. For example, I left out liver disease. That’s a big miss. Or calories!!! I would say 90% of the patients who see me are concerned about their weight. So if that’s you, don’t forget that all of that alcohol adds up as well, regardless of the carbohydrate numbers mentioned on the bottle. After all, a calorie as a calorie.

The bottom line is that if you are a daily drinker, you should definitely take the AUDIT test that I mentioned and perhaps seek help.

Though not the preferred way of doing it, you can certainly self administer estrogen and testosterone injections in order to treat your menopause symptoms.

doing this via a weekly injection at home is not only less expensive, but is more likely to give stable hormone levels that will prevent big peaks and huge crashes in your levels.

There is nothing complicated about feeling better. Decrease your alcohol and caffeine, eat less sugar, drink a bit more water, read a book and get off of your devices, and most importantly, go outside and take a walk.

I will make another reel about progesterone if you still have your uterus, but if you’ve had a hysterectomy, the decision is yours and should solely be based upon how you feel. If you feel better on it, go for it. If you don’t, don’t worry about it.
