We recently joined the Gang Awareness, Prevention & Safety Program at South Terrace Youth Center - an event sponsored by Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network and Waco Housing Authority & Affiliates to support youth and strengthen community connections.

Our team, Amy, Erin, and Danielle, was on hand to share resources, answer mental health questions, and connect with attendees.

We also captured some great moments with guest speakers Quentin Tasby and Victor P. Hall, MC & Waco Street Drummer Richard A. Thompson, Sierra Shaw (Waco ISD), Cory Cleveland (GRIP Program), and District Attorney Josh Tetens.

Events like this remind us how powerful community connections are. Thank you to everyone who joined us! đź’™

On November 19, 2025, our team - Jennifer (Outpatient Director), Erin Hughley (Community Liaison), and Jasmine Green (Community Liaison) - hosted a Lunch & Learn with Cedar Crest Hospital & Residential Treatment Center.

We met with Appolonia Okereke (CNO), the therapy team, and discharge planners, as well as Melissa West (CFO), to reinforce collaboration, communication, and our shared commitment to supporting adolescents in behavioral health care.

At Oceans Behavioral Hospital - Waco, we partner closely with Cedar Crest so that adolescents have access to a full continuum of care, from inpatient to outpatient services, ensuring smooth transitions and ongoing support for every youth and family we serve.

By working together, we can create stronger outcomes and compassionate care every step of the way. đź’™

For 20 years, the Greater Waco Chamber’s LEAD program has been changing the life trajectory of local students and Ben Kellogg, CEO of Oceans Behavioral Hospital Waco, has joined the mission this 2025-2026 school year.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the LEAD Program (Leadership Education and Development) visited Oceans Behavioral Hospital Waco and was able to go on a mini tour as well as hear all about the different jobs and careers that are available in the mental health industry. Students asked questions and had an opportunity to connect with our leadership team.

The Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) Program:
- Equips students with essential skills that last a lifetime
- Opens doors to endless opportunities for growth, connection, and success
- Inspires students to explore higher education opportunities and discover their career passions
- Strengthens our community by empowering more students to graduate and thrive in the workforce
- Engages local businesses in shaping the next generation of leaders
- Transforms lives by giving students the tools and confidence to create brighter futures for themselves, their families, and generations to come

We are thankful for the opportunity to spend time with these young men and woman and look forward to continuing to support this great cause.
