Oceans Behavioral Hospital - Waco was proud to join McLennan Community College (MCC) for this year’s De-Stress Fest, a campus-wide event designed to help students unwind before the final stretch of the semester.
Therapist Danielle and Community Liaison Jasmine spent the day connecting with students and sharing mental health resources while MCC Student Life provided a variety of calming activities - from painting and guided meditation to ornament making, friendship bracelets, and more.
With nearly 76% of college students reporting “moderate to serious psychological distress” during finals, events like these play an essential role in encouraging self-care and supporting student success. We’re grateful to MCC for creating this space and inviting our team to be part of it.

From rigorous safety standards to innovative care practices, our leaders ensure every team and every location provides the highest standard of behavioral health services.
On Monday, November 24, 2025, members of our team joined the We The People Community for their annual Thanksgiving Food Basket Distribution at the City of Waco Multipurpose Center.
This meaningful community event, now in its 25th year, was founded and led by Carlton “Pastor C” Stimpson of New Light Missionary Baptist Church. What began with turkey giveaways has grown into a large-scale outreach, providing full holiday meal baskets for families to prepare at home.
This year, families received baskets filled with turkey, potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, and more. The evening also featured live entertainment, creating a joyful atmosphere as neighbors came together in gratitude and generosity.
Our Oceans team was honored to assist with such an impactful tradition that strengthens the African American community and ensures families across Waco can share in the warmth of a Thanksgiving meal.
Members of our team recently had the privilege of volunteering at Shepherd's Heart - Feeding Families. Changing Lives.
As we enter the season of gratitude, our team was honored to give their time in support of local families preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday. Acts of service like this remind us of the importance of community, connection, and caring for one another - values that are at the heart of everything we do at Oceans.
During our visit, we also had the opportunity to learn more about Things from the heart, the organization’s store that provides families with clothing and household items at no cost. Remaining items are sold to help support their mission, making it one of Waco’s most impactful and self-sustaining resale shops.
We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with organizations like The Shepard’s Heart and support the meaningful work they do for families in our community.

We recently joined the Gang Awareness, Prevention & Safety Program at South Terrace Youth Center - an event sponsored by Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network and Waco Housing Authority & Affiliates to support youth and strengthen community connections.
Our team, Amy, Erin, and Danielle, was on hand to share resources, answer mental health questions, and connect with attendees.
We also captured some great moments with guest speakers Quentin Tasby and Victor P. Hall, MC & Waco Street Drummer Richard A. Thompson, Sierra Shaw (Waco ISD), Cory Cleveland (GRIP Program), and District Attorney Josh Tetens.
Events like this remind us how powerful community connections are. Thank you to everyone who joined us! đź’™
