👁️ Meet Dr. Matthew Gillings

We’re proud to introduce Dr. Matthew Gillings, a comprehensive ophthalmologist who joined Waco Eye Associates in 2024. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Gillings brings a strong academic background and a passion for delivering exceptional eye care to every patient he serves.

Raised in Plano, Texas, Dr. Gillings earned his degree in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Dallas, graduating at the top of his class with highest honors. He went on to complete medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center, followed by an internship in Marietta, Georgia, before returning to UT Southwestern for his ophthalmology residency, where he was selected as chief resident.

Dr. Gillings provides comprehensive care for a wide range of medical and surgical eye conditions. He has a special interest in cataract surgery, including premium lens implants, as well as advanced glaucoma management with minimally invasive techniques. He is also fluent in Spanish, allowing him to better connect with and care for a broader range of patients in our community.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Gillings enjoys life here in Waco with his wife and son, staying active in his church, and playing pickleball.

We’re excited for our community to get to know Dr. Gillings and experience the high level of care he brings to every patient!
