Astera Health is an independent, not-for-profit healthcare organization dedicated to improving community health for over 100 years. Guided by our vision to be your trusted partner for life, we provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in orthopedics, oncology, urology, ENT, chiropractic care, women’s health, and diagnostic imaging. Our hospital, clinic, and cancer center in Wadena, along with five satellite and two physical therapy clinics in Bertha, Henning, Ottertail, Sebeka, and Verndale, serve Wadena, Todd, and Otter Tail counties. Our hospital features surgery suites, labor and delivery, lab, rehab services, and 24-hour emergency care. We are committed to expanding specialized care, advancing innovation, and enhancing care.

💜A Big Thank You for a Big Impact!💜

Last October, we held a bra donation drive in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, collecting more than 200 new or gently used bras! Donations were accepted throughout the month and at our annual Pink Flannel and Fizz event.

The donated bras were donated to Someplace Safe, where they’ll be distributed across their regional locations to support individuals in need. Pictured from left are Alyssa, crime victim advocate with Wadena Someplace Safe, and Astera Health volunteers Pat, Lois, and Diane.

We are so grateful to everyone who contributed, and we look forward to continuing this tradition at next year’s Pink Flannel and Fizz!

Make 2025 the year you step into a life-saving role! Our next EMT-Basic Course begins in January and offers a flexible hybrid format, online Teams sessions during the week, with in-person skills training on select Saturdays. You’ll also earn BLS and CPR certification as part of the course.

Catching Up With the Leaders Who Helped Shape Astera Health

We recently hosted a dinner to celebrate and reconnect with our retired governing board members and their spouses. President & CEO Joel Beiswenger shared updates on what’s happening at Astera Health, followed by a social where many had the chance to catch up with familiar faces and longtime friends.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time, guidance, and leadership these individuals gave over the years. Their dedication helped build the strong foundation Astera Health stands on today, and we’re proud to carry that legacy forward.

Spreading Holiday Cheer One Family at a Time!

We’re proud to share that this year our team sponsored 35 families, impacting 89 individuals, through partnering with MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action Partnership, Inc., on its Angel Tree project.

This marks our third year partnering on this meaningful initiative. What started with 11 families has grown year after year, thanks to the generosity of our incredible staff. From shopping wish lists to organizing and loading gifts, our team came together to make the holidays brighter for families in our region.

We’re honored to be part of a community that gives back, and grateful for everyone who helped make this possible!
