Power Outage Update – 10/27/2025 at 10:38 p.m.
The new pole is in place and FE crews are in the process of framing it out. They’ll then make all attachments and bolt everything into place.
Once that’s done they'll give the FE control center clearance & then they’ll coordinate with city substation crews and start to reenergize the line to our system.
Then our substation crews will slowly restore power to our substations and circuits spreading the load so we don’t cause any issues to our system as a result of adding load to quickly.
We tentatively believe power should be restored around midnight. Thanks for your patience and understanding this evening.

Power Outage Update – 10/27/2025 at 8:37 p.m.
We know many of you are without power this evening, and we wanted to share what’s happening. The outage was caused by a problem on a FirstEnergy transmission line before power reached the City’s electric system.
FirstEnergy crews are on scene making repairs, and the work is expected to take several hours before power is fully restored.
Our City Electric Department is monitoring the situation closely and staying in contact with FirstEnergy to make sure service to our residents is restored as quickly and safely as possible.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as crews continue their work tonight. We’ll share another update as soon as restoration efforts are underway.

Power Outage Update - 10/27/25
We’ve been informed that a telephone pole at First Energy’s “Star” Substation may have caught fire near the point where the City’s main electric supply enters the system. This appears to be the cause of the power outage currently affecting the City of Wadsworth. Our crews are aware of the issue and are monitoring the situation. Early estimates suggest the outage could last up to 8 hours or more.
We will share updates as soon as new information becomes available from First Energy.
