The TARA Approach

The TARA Approach THE TARA APPROACH for the Resolution of Shock and Trauma is a unique fusion of Western neuroscience and Eastern energy medicine.

The TARA Approach is available to communities in need under the auspices of the Dom Project, the 501.c.3 non-profit umbrella for all TARA Approach programs and publications. The Dom Project is named for Domingo Orejudos, the first person to die of AIDS in Boulder County, Colorado. His death inspired Dr. Mines and her husband, environmental attorney Robert E. Yuhnke, to share the resources they used for Dom with the world. The Dom Project and The TARA Approach provide training, materials and resources to health care professionals, service agencies, therapists, family birthing units, midwives, childbirth educators, and parents. On International Women's Day, I honor Maata Wharehoka who taught me the meaning of Manaakitanga, the lifestyle of protection, care and stewardship of all that is of enduring value. Every day of Maata's life was lived in this awareness. When you read the story of Maata's mission and how she followed through on all her initiatives, despite enormous challenges and obstacles, you are inspired to voice your truth fearlessly. We are in the midst of a war against the innocent. Speak up. Speak out. Speak with beauty and clarity.

Thank you, Maata Wharehoka, for your undying mentorship.

Broadcast

Wars are the genocide of children which is su***de spelled differently.
Will our fingers pick up the bloodied strands of the cord that unites us?
One woman's voice.
One grandmother's voice.
One defiant voice.
Added to another, and another, and another.
I pray that the soldiers will not obey the orders of destruction.
I ask them to awaken to how these deaths are their own.
I plead with them to recognize that their choices are the embryology of the future.
My pelvis aches when they turn from me.
My heart is in disarray.
My skin is broken by our human ruptures.
In the legacy of the feminine, no child is ever forgotten, the born and the unborn,
The living and the dead.
My arms are theirs, holding them, telling them that they are
Precious lights that will never dim.
One woman's voice.
One grandmother's voice.
One defiant voice.
Added to another,
And another,
And another,
And another.

The way of the , the way of Maata Wharehoka, is the way of peace. All wars are wars against children. All wars are distractions from our inherent unity. We choose to evoke natural intelligence, the innovative and feminine worldview that reveals a single-minded and joyous, universal inclusivity.

The resurgence of power that has lifted women like Maata Wharehoka and Wangari Maathai off the floor when they felt defeated is not unique to them. All women have this capacity. It comes to us through our cellular knowledge of pregnancy, labor, birth and nurturance. It lives within us as a force of nature. What Maata Wharehoka and Wangari Maathai did was to celebrate it, name it, spread it, infuse every woman they met with it. This is how they propagated their Original Brilliance ~ by sharing it with other women. This is how the Green Belt Movement came to be. This is the Spirit of Manaaki.

When Bad Bunny gave his Grammy to Liam Conejo Ramos at the Super Bowl, he modeled what all mothers feel. Our accomplishments belong to our children. That is why we will never stop raising our voices for their wellbeing, for their freedom to thrive and be all that they can be. That is what we live for; that is why we rise.
