I entered this painting back in October and the theme was “Live your Fantasy”. The challenge was to create a narrative painting that depicts a scene from a fairytale. I chose Alice in Wonderland and the flower head scene in the movie. This is ‘Hello Wonderland’ and she’s the biggest (“36 x 48”) cavas I’ve worked on. This really took me out of my comfort zone. Thank you for gifting me 4 of these canvases 🙏🏽. No wins for me in the contest but the real win was painting on such a huge canvas and randomly entering a contest 😱. She’s lovely ⁣hanging in my living room welcoming friends and family 😁.

Our family pictures are rare. We live in the moment. Not always thinking we need to capture it in a photo but by experiencing it. Our Christmas season was different this year. Moments that could not be captured in pictures or in a video. Emotions filled with tears of fear, sadness, joy and laughter. We each lived in the moment and in the saying “you had to be there”. We were there. We took it in. Feeling the ride together till we let go and accepted it.⁣

My family. They are my light, my love and my inspiration. They are who make me feel and embrace every emotion life challenges me with. I am strong because your are too. I am love because you are too. I am an essence of god because you are too.⁣

Hi 👋🏽. Yes I’m still painting and putting together a collection. For those who know me know that I’m slow at doing things. I ran a marathon because I can run it at a slow ass pace. My massage clients love me because I massage at a slow ass pace. Yoga and Pilates SSSLLOOOW 🐌. Heck while at this pace I hope to slow my aging process too 🤣. So it’s no surprise that my paintings are taking its time to come out. Oh well 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’ve asked the universe to help quicken my pace but I guess I’m suppose to shh🤫 and enjoy the moments. These are the moments I sat and spoke to god as I taught myself how to sketch with watercolor in my journal. ⁣

mixed media . My last instructional painting. I’m currently working on my portfolio and production pieces. For almost 3 years I added these two sentences at the end of each post of my art:⁣

👩🏽‍🎨Drawing and painting since 12/2018 and documenting my therapeutic art journey. My exhale✏️🎨. ⁣
⁣
On 12/2/18 my friend invited me to her home to teach me how to draw. Just learning how to draw herself she said to me “I’ll teach you what I know”. Do you remember that day Sabine? Btw Sabine graduated from and is now a professional artist. The two last pictures was my very first drawings. It was a sphere and a cup. Sabine was teaching me values. I didn’t like the picture and I told her that I’d throw it away. She insisted that I not do that and keep it as a reference to see how I progressed. Please visit and look at her most recent painting of the little girl with the spheres. I was surprised when I saw her painting and commented “😍 Omg wait till you see my next painting! We both had a similar vibe. Putting oils on it soon”. When I finished my painting I realized that my first drawing was of a sphere. I do not see this as random or a coincidence. As I see it it is a wink and a nudge from the divine telling me that I am on the right path. ⁣

The butterflies represent transformation and expanding my wings. The gold leaf path is the yellow brick road from the Wizard of Oz where Glinda the good witch said “you always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it yourself”. The bee 🐝 represents the abundant blessings 🍯 that is being laid out for me. The darkness of space represents the trust I must have in the divine to guide me even though I can’t always see what life has ahead of me. And the planets represents the new adventures and worlds I will discover as I go through this life learning and getting to know myself at a deeper level. This painting is called The Dance of the Divine🙏🏽✨. ⁣
