Aloha Everyone!
Thank you for your continued support! I am so sorry for not staying active and out and about. But as we all know this pandemic has taken a lot from us... some were family and finances, time and traffic, and some were farms and stables.

As we all know, Hawaii had some storms that came in during the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. It affected our crops of Hawaiian chili pepper, ʻolena and ginger. However, we have now recovered from that and we have started production again.

Please stay tuned. I will be doing some videos and hope that you continue this journey with me.

I don't use artificial coloring or dye. The translucent yellow is from using 'olena, or tumeric as everyone knows it by. I infuse my herbs and spices using 'olena to enhance a flavor so 'ono (delicious), you know it's HE MANA WAHINE HAWAIIAN CHILI PEPPER WATER 😋 💧 Our goal is to provide an 'ono, wela a me ke olakino wai... delicious, hot and healthy product. 😋😋

I want to apologize for being out for so long... this COVID got me limited but extra busy.

But I want to give a shout out to Oahu Community Supported Marketplace OCSM. Theyʻve been carrying my He Mana Wahine Hawaiian Chile Pepper Water for the past or 3 months and doing great.

They are a great group to follow. They are a community based organization helping other local business owners and local vendors by creating food kits that contain local products. Please check them out for more!

In this journey, Iʻve learned a lot of things. About the herbs and spices I use and farming it... Thereʻs a time to plant and a time to harvest. That was interesting to realize that fact. I learned about how important the soil is, not just for plants but for the whole eco system and the human race! How we failed the system in farming! FARMING is important to the eco system AAND the human race. Thereʻs a wealth of information to the whole farming business that even doctors donʻt know. But hey, what do I know.
The business aspect... a factor I actually find challenging. The paper work with the state registration, certifications, taxes... all that can be very confusing. Especially doing it online. So much areas online to go and be to fill an application. Keeping track of the spending and all that bookkeeping... good lord! Keeping track of my customers, making sure I donʻt send out the wrong orders, to the wrong address, to the wrong people... **knock knock knock** havenʻt happened yet... =l
And then the bottling, labeling, packing and printing... I need a production line for that.
But all in all... in the end... I enjoy making it... I will set up and put on my music and bottle away!

ʻOlena – the Canoe Plant
ʻOlena (tumeric), known to be 1 of 12 “canoe plants” brought over to Hawaʻi by early Polynesians, possibly originating from India.

ʻOlena was used for many reasons, to name a few, medicinally, spiritually, and traditionally. It was used as dye in cloth making. Traditionally, it was used as a medicine. The juice would be extracted from the roots, and mixed with water; it would help with earaches and cleared nasal sinuses. It was used in ceremonies for purification, and healing. And it goes on and on and on.

These are just a few of the reasons why I use ʻolena in He Mana Wahine Hawaiian Chili Pepper Water. But the most obvious reason I use ʻolena is that it enhances its infused flavors of the garlic, ginger, and the Hawaiian chili pepper. Keeping He Mana Wahine Hawaiian Chili Pepper Water organic and natural as possible... healthy as possible... and as flavorful as possible.

PLANTING MY HAWAIIAN CHILI PEPPERS

Get a pepper - Cut it so you see the seeds - Place those seeds (my husband cuts it open and puts the whole pepper in the soil, up to you) into the soil (1" deep) - Water and give it a lot of sun (but donʻt let the soil dry)... my husband places it facing the East (longer sun light from east to west)... in a week you will see it.

So - because itʻs summer, with each order I will have some seeds included in your package.

The story behind my LOGO:
He Mana Wahine: that name or title derived from the strength of my grandmother. She was the matriarch in our family and mana. She was everything pono.

The image of the peppers and all that surrounds it are the ingredients used. Those images I shot myself with my Samsung S20 phone, and collaborated the image it is today.

The background image is also a photo I took, with my Samsung S20 phone, of the pepper leaves that my chili pepper actually came off of.

The 'olena and peppers are grown in my yard and my husband is the farmer. Thanks to him I'm able to do this.

I do my own photos, I do my own editing, and I do my labeling by hand.
