Severe Flooding & Evacuations on Oʻahu
Dangerous flooding is currently impacting parts of Oʻahu following consecutive days of heavy rainfall. Authorities have issued evacuation orders for areas including Haleʻiwa and Waialua, especially near the Wahiawā Dam, due to concerns it may breach or collapse at any time. Additional flooding is expected on Maui, Molokaʻi, and Kauaʻi.
This is the second major rain event in just one week, saturating the ground and increasing the risk of:
• Flash flooding
• Landslides
• Road closures
• Infrastructure damage
The Hawaiʻi National Guard has been activated, and emergency crews are responding across the island.
If you are in or near affected areas:
- Follow all evacuation orders immediately
- Avoid flooded roads
- Stay updated through local emergency alerts
- Prepare essentials (medications, documents, water, chargers)
💜 For our disability community:
If you need assistance with evacuation, transportation, or accessing resources, please reach out to local emergency services or support networks.
