Mahalo, Anthony 💚💜
For 14 years, Anthony has generously volunteered his time and skills as our tech volunteer, supporting our work behind the scenes and helping our organization grow. We are deeply grateful for his long-standing commitment, dedication, and service.
Recently, Anthony shared that he is no longer able to continue assisting us. While we will be moving forward with new support, we want to take this moment to honor and recognize the many years he gave to our mission. As a small token of our appreciation, we were honored to present him with a Mahalo plaque.
Thank you, Anthony, for 14 years of service and support. Your contributions will always be appreciated and remembered.

Independent Living needs our collective investment!

NCIL has launched the Protect IL Campaign to defend Independent Living programs amid growing federal challenges. When we come together, our advocacy is stronger, louder, and more effective. Let’s stand united to protect the future of Independent Living.

Odin Frost and Jordan Granberry, two boys from Tyler, Texas, were both born with severe brain damage and given very low chances of survival, doctors even suggested they might not live past early childhood or could remain in a vegetative state. Despite those grim predictions, the boys formed a close bond after meeting at a special-needs school at age three and supported each other through years of therapy and development.

Against all odds, the pair continued their friendship throughout childhood, overcoming significant challenges and milestones. In July 2020, at age 18, Odin and Jordan celebrated by graduating high school together, a moment their families described as an inspiring achievement that defied early medical expectations.

Did You Know?

Not everyone experiences the holidays the same way and that’s okay.

At Aloha Independent Living Hawaiʻi, we believe in choice, dignity, and self-determination. Inclusion means respecting different traditions, needs, and ways of celebrating (or not celebrating), while creating spaces where everyone feels welcome.

This season, we honor independence, diversity, and community every day of the year. 💜💚
