WACOSA was proud to stand alongside our partners at the Minnesota State Capitol, where people impacted by disability services had the chance to be heard.

Last week advocates from WACOSA, Mille Lacs Co. Area DAC , and Options, Inc. of Big Lake spent the day connecting with legislators and sharing real stories and concerns about the impact of Governor Walz’s proposed supplemental budget to disability services. These conversations matter and we’re grateful to Senator Aric Putnam, Senator Jeff Howe, Representative Dan Wolgamott, and Representative Bernie Perryman for taking the time to listen and engage.

We believe advocacy is powerful. When individuals speak up about their experiences, it puts a human face to policy—and helps shape a more inclusive future for all.

Days like this remind us: showing up matters. And together, our voices are stronger.
