On March 24th, WACOSA had the honor of attending Disability Services Day at the Capitol in St. Paul—an important opportunity to advocate for the services that empower people with disabilities to live, work, and thrive in our communities.

We are deeply grateful to Representative Mary Franson and Representative Dan Wolgamott for taking the time to meet with us and engage in thoughtful conversation about the vital role disability services play at every level. Employment support, housing, community connections - these services are lifelines that promote independence, dignity, and opportunity.

Moments like these remind us how powerful it is when voices come together to create understanding and inspire action. Thank you to our advocates, partners, and legislators who stand with us in supporting individuals of all abilities.

If you’re inspired to make a difference, we encourage you to reach out to your local representatives. A quick call or email sharing why disability services matter to you can have a powerful impact. You can find and contact your legislators by visiting the Minnesota Legislature website and using the “Who Represents Me?” tool.

Together, we continue building a more inclusive future. 💙 Rep. Dan Wolgamott Representative Mary Franson

Today was Disability Services Day at the State Capitol and we made a difference! Thank you to everyone from all over the state who joined the rally in the Rotunda. Our voices were loud and clear for disability services. 💙 More pictures to come with more information on how YOU can be an advocate too! "

Our Story

WACOSA, a non-profit, began in 1963. By the mid-80s it had a vision to connect the employment needs of the business community to those individuals who, due to mental or physical disabilities, had not realized their full potential. We strongly believe that every person in society deserves dignity and respect, and can be a contributing member of their community when given the opportunity to develop their strengths and capabilities.
