South County Health reached another important milestone recently, completing our 250th Aquablation procedure — less than two years after introducing the innovative treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

The milestone case was performed by Dr. Arnold Sarazen, with tremendous support from our OR nursing and surgical teams, and marks one of the fastest Aquablation adoption rates in the country, according to Procept BioRobotics. In addition to Dr. Sarazen, Aquablation at SCH is performed by a highly skilled group of urologists, including Drs. Heffernan, Johnson, Lubin, and Cambio.

This achievement reflects exceptional teamwork, surgical expertise, and a commitment to bringing innovative, life-improving care to our community. Congratulations to everyone involved for their outstanding work and helping position SCH as a regional leader in advanced BPH treatment.

As we recognize Veterans Day, South County Health proudly honors those across our organization who have served or continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to care reflect the very best of who we are as a healthcare community.

This year, we are honored to spotlight —Lieutenant Jacob Francis, Nurse Practitioner, whose story embodies service, learning, and leadership.

Lieutenant Jacob Francis serves as a Medical Officer in the Rhode Island Air National Guard while working per diem at our East Greenwich and Warwick Express Care locations. In addition to his clinical roles, Jacob also serves his hometown of Middletown, Rhode Island, as a firefighter/paramedic.

28 years old, Jacob is pursuing his Doctor of Nursing Practice and aspires to become a Commander before retiring from the Guard. He encourages colleagues to explore opportunities with the National Guard, highlighting its support for education and professional growth.
