❤️ Sing Your Heart Out! 🎤

This February, we are hosting a Valentine's Karaoke for teens!

This karaoke event is about expression, connection, and having fun together - whether that means a power ballad, a breakup anthem, or a silly duet.

Event Details:
📅 Date: Friday, February 20th, 2026
🕖 Time: 3:30-4:30pm
📍 Location: Roman Music Therapy Services, 333 North Ave. Wakefield, MA
🎤Who: Teens of all abilities, ages 13-18 years (suggested age range). No musical experience is required. This is open to the public, whether you are a current or former client, or if it will be your first time making music with us! The event will be facilitated by music therapists.
💲Cost: $10 per participant, to pay at the door (cash or card)

As part of our 20th Anniversary Celebration Series, each month, we will host an event to bring members of our community together to make music and celebrate the beautiful connections that we have made over the past 20 years.

At the beginning of this month, we celebrated 4 years of our Faculty Supervisors - Andrea, Deforia, and Donna - working at Roman Music Therapy Services!

The Faculty Supervisor Model is an integral part of what Roman Music Therapy Services unique, as these incredible music therapists provide an additional layer of support and training in their areas of expertise for our music therapy team.

While our Faculty Supervisors live all over the country, last August they all came out to Wakefield for a whole team training! See if you can spot them in the picture from that day!

The Roman Music Therapy Services office will be closed tomorrow, 1/26/26, due to the snow. All sessions, including all individual and group sessions, Sprouting Melodies, and Young Adult Music Therapy group are cancelled. Stay safe and stay warm! ❄️

We are excited to welcome Mia P to the team at Roman Music Therapy Services!

She will be at the front desk on weekday afternoons and evenings as well as some Saturday mornings during Sprouting Melodies classes.

We are so glad to have Mia on the team, as her presence will provide an additional layer of support and safety for our staff and clients who are in the center for sessions later in the day.

Mia is a graduate of Westfield State College where she majored in Psychology. She holds a BA. Beginning her career in daycare as a toddler teacher, then moving to several different rooms. After she left working at daycare, she then worked for a company that makes the X-ray machines for airports. Following that, she then went to work for a Boston law firm. Now, she has joined Roman Music Therapy Services, where she can’t wait to meet the clients and assist them.

Outside of work, Mia loves to scuba dive. She has been very fortunate to travel all over the world to see amazing places and see all sorts of critters that’s below the surface. Because of this passion, she is fortunate to have received 3 Emmy awards. She was lucky enough to dive a couple times in the GOT (Giant Ocean Tank) at the New England Aquarium and swim with Myrtle the turtle (yes, she does rule that tank). Also, she was blessed to dive Aquarius Reef Base (undersea research laboratory) in the Florida Keys. One can’t buy either of these experiences.

She enjoys swimming, hiking, snowshoeing, whitewater rafting, and ski diving (although she doesn’t do this too often!)

Then, they will sing, twirl, and play instruments along to their favorite winter songs!

Hot chocolate will be provided for a cozy winter treat!

This week we are recognizing Michaela as she celebrates 1 year working at Roman Music Therapy Services!

Michaela is a true rockstar, working with many individual clients, with babies in the hospital, and with residents at group homes.

She also supports our client intake process, helping new clients get started with music therapy.

We are taking a break for the Holidays!

Roman Music Therapy Services will be closed on December 24th - 26th, and on January 1st.

We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and we will look forward to seeing all of our clients when we return!
