I have some extra time to bake this week. It was fun to try a simple inclusion loaf with blueberries and cream cheese. I did not add any sugar to this loaf. It's just a simple flour, yeast, and water bread recipe. The sweetness of the blueberries and the tart cream cheese really brought the flavor together!

Hi friends,

I wanted to take a moment to check in because things have been a little quieter than usual here on the Riverside Homestead page.

The last few months have been a whirlwind in our household. Daren has been dealing with some serious back issues, and our focus has been on getting him the care he needs. After a lot of appointments and waiting, he is scheduled for surgery this Wednesday.

As you can imagine, life on the homestead has shifted into “one day at a time” mode for the moment. Between family, appointments, work, and preparing for his recovery, I’ve had to step back from posting as much as I normally do.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has checked in, shown patience, and continued to support what I do here. It truly means more than you know.

Things may stay a little quiet while we get through surgery and the first stages of recovery, but I’m looking forward to slowly getting back into the rhythm of sharing homestead life, herbs, crafts, and all the little things that make this space special.

For now, if you think of us on Wednesday, we would certainly appreciate the good thoughts. Thank you for being here. ❤️

Yesterday was my husband's birthday. He's been going through it with his back injuries, so he hasn't felt much like celebrating. But, I still made him his favorite carrot cake from scratch! It turned out great! 💚

Many of you know my daughter Jasmine is an INCREDIBLE writer. She has a blog where she posts her thoughts and it's a great read! But, one of her absolutely favorite hobbies is photography. We live by the cycles of the moon here and I love that she was able to catch the beautiful full moon last night. The fact that she was able to utilize both her photography AND her writing to reflect on this moon made for such a proud mom moment! 💚

It's been a hot minute since I posted, but life has been busy! Things have been moving along here on the homestead. My beautifully talented daughter Jaz has been working hard on getting my website active. Jaz has coded the entire site from scratch (the non-tech in me can't even wrap my head around all that work)! I am looking forward to adding blog content soon, so be sure to check it out!
