This phase is not just about newborn care. It is also about maternal healing, hormone shifts, identity changes, and recovery. Postpartum is not a quick bounce back. It is a major transition.

Shivering after birth is a completely normal response.

It can feel surprising, especially after everything your body just did. The trembling can be mild or pretty intense, and it often catches moms off guard.

This is one of those moments where reassurance matters. A warm blanket. Slow, steady breaths. Someone calmly telling you, “This is normal.”

Birth is powerful. The hormone shift is real. And having steady support in those first moments can make all the difference.
