Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad

Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad We are an independent, non profit, all volunteer organization providing free Emergency Medical Servi In the year 2008 the squad responded to over 1400 calls.

We, the members of the squad, are all volunteers , community members, and most importantly, your friends and neighbors. We take great pride in delivering free Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Rescue assistance to the residents of Wall Township , and providing EMS support to the Glendola and West Belmar Fire Companies. The Wall Township First Aid & Rescue Squad relies on individuals, like yourself, who reside in the township, to help make a difference in a person’s life by being part of a team that provides basic life support in an Emergency Medical Service to your neighbors, friends and relatives. A Registered Nurse, receptionist, a medical sales executive, a company director, a school bus driver, a police officer, a fitness consultant, and a retired school teacher are just some of your neighbors who volunteer their time to help save a life. Dedicated squad members, all volunteers, are lead by a team of officers with a wealth of experience in Emergency Medical Services and provide the knowledge and leadership necessary to maintain the highest standards in patient care in your community. Do not confuse the term volunteer with amateur. Our members are all qualified to perform their duties, and dedicate themselves to maintaining and enhancing their skills. To just ride on an ambulance all members must be certified in Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and be trained in awareness of hazardous materials, the emergency services incident command system, and awareness of weapons of mass destruction. (The latter was mandated by the State in response to the events of 9/11). All drivers are coached in the operation of emergency vehicles. Members that have contact with patients are all Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-Bs) certified by the State of New Jersey to perform their duties, some are additionally certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. In addition many of our members have taken more advanced level training in Pediatric care, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, and Assisting Paramedics. Some of our members through their experience and skill have become certified as instructors and teach in the EMT program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center .

For the past 26 years, we have had the honor of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Wall Township Police Department EMS Division—working together through countless calls, long nights, difficult moments, and lifesaving successes. This partnership has been built on mutual respect, shared purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the residents of Wall Township.

Tonight, at 8:00 PM, “Squad 23” will sign off for the final time. While this moment is bittersweet, it is also a time to reflect with gratitude on the dedication, professionalism, and service provided by the men and women who proudly served under that call sign. Your impact on this community and on our organization will not be forgotten.

As this chapter closes, Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad will carry forward the mission we have shared for more than two decades—continuing to provide high-quality, compassionate EMS care to the residents of Wall Township. We do so with deep appreciation for the partnership that helped shape who we are today.

Thank you, Squad 23, for 26 years of service, teamwork, and commitment to our community. Your legacy will always be a part of Wall Township EMS. 💙🚑

12/14/2025

Wall Township has received over 8 inches of wet, heavy snow, significantly more than originally forecasted. While snowfall is tapering off, strong winds and bitter cold temperatures are expected over the next 24–48 hours.

These conditions increase the risk of downed trees and wires, as well as refreezing and black ice, which will make roadways dangerous—especially overnight and during the early morning hours.

Road crews from the state, county, and Wall Township are actively working to keep main roads passable, and additional salting operations are scheduled overnight.

**Allenwood Road will remain closed at least through the night between State Highway 138 and Eighteenth Avenue due to a downed pole**

Residents are urged to:

Use caution when traveling

Avoid downed wires and report them from a safe distance

Limit unnecessary travel during extreme cold and windy conditions

Updates will be provided as conditions change.
