Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad

Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad We are an independent, non profit, all volunteer organization providing free Emergency Medical Servi In the year 2008 the squad responded to over 1400 calls.

We, the members of the squad, are all volunteers , community members, and most importantly, your friends and neighbors. We take great pride in delivering free Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Rescue assistance to the residents of Wall Township , and providing EMS support to the Glendola and West Belmar Fire Companies. The Wall Township First Aid & Rescue Squad relies on individuals, like yourself, who reside in the township, to help make a difference in a personโ€™s life by being part of a team that provides basic life support in an Emergency Medical Service to your neighbors, friends and relatives. A Registered Nurse, receptionist, a medical sales executive, a company director, a school bus driver, a police officer, a fitness consultant, and a retired school teacher are just some of your neighbors who volunteer their time to help save a life. Dedicated squad members, all volunteers, are lead by a team of officers with a wealth of experience in Emergency Medical Services and provide the knowledge and leadership necessary to maintain the highest standards in patient care in your community. Do not confuse the term volunteer with amateur. Our members are all qualified to perform their duties, and dedicate themselves to maintaining and enhancing their skills. To just ride on an ambulance all members must be certified in Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and be trained in awareness of hazardous materials, the emergency services incident command system, and awareness of weapons of mass destruction. (The latter was mandated by the State in response to the events of 9/11). All drivers are coached in the operation of emergency vehicles. Members that have contact with patients are all Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-Bs) certified by the State of New Jersey to perform their duties, some are additionally certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. In addition many of our members have taken more advanced level training in Pediatric care, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, and Assisting Paramedics. Some of our members through their experience and skill have become certified as instructors and teach in the EMT program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center .

๐Ÿ Preparing for the 76th Season at the Track!

Members of Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad and Wall Community First Aid Squad recently participated in Track Safety Training graciously hosted by the Wall Stadium Safety Team at Wall Stadium Speedway as preparations ramp up for the upcoming racing season.

During the hands-on training, crews reviewed race car anatomy, racer rescue techniques, and driver removal procedures, building the specialized skills needed to safely operate in the fast-paced and unique environment of a race track.

This training also marks the return of both squads as standby EMS crews at the track after a hiatus, strengthening the safety partnership between local responders and the speedway.

As Wall Stadium Speedway prepares for its 76th season, this collaboration helps ensure that when the green flag drops, drivers, crews, and fans are supported by highly trained emergency responders ready to act at a momentโ€™s notice.

A big thank you to the Wall Stadium Safety Team for hosting this valuable training and helping kick off another safe and exciting season of racing. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ

โ„๏ธ As We Continue to Dig Out โ€” Shovel Smart & Stay Safe โ„๏ธ

Wall Township continues to clean up after the recent storm that brought heavy, wet snow, which is much more strenuous to shovel and increases the risk of injuries and medical emergencies.

If youโ€™re still clearing snow, please remember:

โœ… Take it slow and shovel small amounts at a time
โœ… Lift with your legs, not your back
โœ… Take frequent breaks and stay hydrated
โœ… Watch for icy surfaces
๐Ÿ›‘ Stop immediately if you feel chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or extreme fatigue

โš ๏ธ Consider avoiding shoveling and seek help if you have:
โ€ข Heart disease or cardiac history
โ€ข High blood pressure
โ€ข Prior back problems
โ€ข Limited mobility or low exercise tolerance

Please continue to be patient as snow removal operations are ongoing, and check in on neighbors who may need assistance.

Your safety comes first โ€” no driveway or sidewalk is worth a medical emergency.

For the past 26 years, we have had the honor of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Wall Township Police Department EMS Divisionโ€”working together through countless calls, long nights, difficult moments, and lifesaving successes. This partnership has been built on mutual respect, shared purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the residents of Wall Township.

Tonight, at 8:00 PM, โ€œSquad 23โ€ will sign off for the final time. While this moment is bittersweet, it is also a time to reflect with gratitude on the dedication, professionalism, and service provided by the men and women who proudly served under that call sign. Your impact on this community and on our organization will not be forgotten.

As this chapter closes, Wall First Aid & Rescue Squad will carry forward the mission we have shared for more than two decadesโ€”continuing to provide high-quality, compassionate EMS care to the residents of Wall Township. We do so with deep appreciation for the partnership that helped shape who we are today.

Thank you, Squad 23, for 26 years of service, teamwork, and commitment to our community. Your legacy will always be a part of Wall Township EMS. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš‘
