This weekend, we welcomed Phoebus, a long-stay dog from Blue Mountain Humane Society , to the farm for a special visit as part of his Pawsitive Adventure.

Phoebus explored the property, met the horses with calm curiosity, and took in a new environment at his own pace. Experiences like this provide meaningful enrichment for dogs who have been waiting for homes and reflect the role animals can play in creating calm, confidence, and connection.

At Blue Mountain Therapeutic Riding, that same sense of connection is at the heart of our work. We provide horseback riding opportunities for people with disabilities, using human–animal relationships to build confidence, independence, and joy.

Both organizations are featured in the Valley Giving Guide. If you are looking for a way to give locally this season, supporting organizations that strengthen these connections makes a meaningful difference in our community.

At Blue Mountain Therapeutic Riding, everything we do is built on partnership—between people and horses.

In this video, Elizabeth, our Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, introduces Dante, one of the horses who plays a vital role in supporting emotional growth, learning, and well-being for our participants.

You can support Dante and the work he helps make possible by giving through the Valley Giving Guide:

Matthew’s mom shares what therapeutic riding at Blue Mountain Therapeutic Riding has meant for Matthew over the past 13 years — growth, confidence, strength, joy, and belonging.

Stories like Matthew’s are only possible because of a caring community that believes in the power of horses and people working together.

✨ If you believe in this work, please consider supporting BMTR through the Valley Giving Guide:

Sunday morning at the farm, Sunshine munching on her hay.

I got a then and now post this morning and then it disappeared. The photo was Sunshine munching hay 9 years ago. I love the calming and predictable rhythm of caring for the herd. ❤️. We could use a few more people on our volunteer feed team. Do you want to join us?
